|
|
Aspie Affection is a very cool website and a neat idea and I have met some cool people on there, however it does have a few minor issues about it, and since there is no link to contact the webmaster on there, they go here:
1. There is no link to contact the webmaster. Really every website should have one of these.
2. There is no way to report abuse. This is probably not a big problem at the moment, however I did spend some small amount of time in conversation with someone named gloria4wilfred, who said she was from Nigeria, and kept telling me how cute she thought I was, and then said she was coming over to my area to visit me, and oh by the way, her father left her a rather large sum of money conditioned on her having a man in her life and would I help her get it. I have had no way to report any of this. Aspies are probably more likely than a lot of the rest of the population to fall for a scam like this, so we should have some way of reporting when something like this occurs.
3. Auto-logout after 15 minutes. This is extremely annoying. Do you know how many times I have been writing a really long message, hit the send button, and been sent back to the login screen, and found my message completely lost to all time? Yes, you can copy and paste your message before you send, but sometimes one forgets to do that, and you shouldn't have to do it anyway.
4. Bug which occasionally causes a message to not get sent and to send you back to your homescreen when you click send. The messages doesn't show up in your send messages, but sometimes messages get sent even though they don't show up in sent messages. There should be some screen after you send a message that says "your message has been sent," or somesuch.
5. Bug which, when looking at views on your profile, causes your picture at the top of the page to be replaced by the picture of the first (oldest) person to view your profile on the list. Not sure exactly what causes this, or if it happens to everybody, but it happens to me at least.
6. Big, giant, pink and red banner on the top of every page that says Aspie Affection. I mean really, is there anything that could scream more loudly to anyone who happened to be walking past my computer, "Weird people dating site"?
Again, very cool site, I like it, it just has some minor issues with it. _________________ There will one day be lemon soaked paper napkins.

Oh one more.
7. Automatic email address removal. If I put my email address in a message, it is presumably because I want the person I am talking to to email me. It makes very little sense at this point to just cut it out. I mean that kind of makes sense in a public forum where you don't want to make emails visible to spambots, but it makes no sense at all in a private messaging context. _________________ There will one day be lemon soaked paper napkins.

If we're going that way with the gripes, the horrid male/female ratio could use some work. Perhaps it's fixed in the new PHP build? _________________ <storms> well why didnt you mute the jerks who called me anoying

Perhaps it's fixed in the new PHP build? | I believe I heard a figure that something like 1 in 13 diagnosed aspies was female, so that probably can't be helped. _________________ There will one day be lemon soaked paper napkins.

I was just talking about Aspie Affection. Not making broad generalizations about neuro-exceptionals. |

When using the search facility, there's an option to check a box to search for profiles with photos so if that's possible, it would be good also to have a choice to search only for profiles where the members had been active within the past 30 days or past 90 days.
And if there are quite a few pages, you can click through four or five of them and then it comes to a database error. |

Actually I thought it was the opposite that Aspie females have a higher rate of lesbianism and asexualism. _________________ There are No Stupid Questions. But there are a LOT of Inquisitive Idiots. |

Here's my complaint about Aspie Affections- Even though I posted under a lesbian profile some stupid guy responds to my ad wanting to date. _________________ There are No Stupid Questions. But there are a LOT of Inquisitive Idiots. |

Unfortunately, some jerks do not take a hint, or otherwise hope that you're Bi. I blame Ian Fleming. _________________ Yami: Wait, did you just summon a bunch of monsters in one turn?
