| Well, when I was younger I was really insomniac. I'd have a terrible time getting to sleep. I blame that on ADHD and an overactive mind, however. Don't know about the aspergers. |

I have Asperger's myself, but I am not quite sure about Insomnia. All I know is that it does take forever for my brain to shut up, and I think a lot of people with Asperger's have a hard time of falling asleep. _________________ Though there's no one there to guide you

| Sleep disturbance is associated with autistic spectrum. The incident of sleep disturbance is higher in the autistic population than the general population. |

Waking up is my problem; I like bed and sleep land.
However, I do stay up all night and sleep for half of the daylight; this is a common sleep disturbance for those with an ASD (16% or so). |

| I hyper-focus on sounds. So I can't sleep because of the blood pounding in my head or the a/c switching on and off or the house settling or the dog moving, or the sound the pillowcase makes in my ear, or my husband's breathing, or my breathing... pick something |

Early to bed and early to rise makes you... Well, probably an NT.
I can't get to sleep and when it's time to wake up I can't wake up, takes me hours to do both. Not good for employment prospects. _________________ IN GIRVM IMVS NOCTE ET CONSVMIMVR IGNI |

The only way I can sleep is pulling the covers almost above my head and telling myself a little story. If I do not do this I will not sleep, unless I'm really really sleepy. I've never fallen asleep as soon as I get in bed or even 2 hours after getting into bed. It's easier to sleep with my lamp on and I usually doze off when I watch TV late at night.
I think a lot when in bed and it's hard to stop these thoughts coming.
Sometimes reading a book helps in making me feel sleepy. |

I too have sleep issues. I can never get off to sleep in a reasonable time unless I am completely knackered or have taken something like melatonin or alcohol.
Then I never want to wake up in the morning and can if left to my own devices sleep until early afternoon. Even if i have gone to sleep around midnight the night before.
Its a right pain sometimes. |
