| Are there any aspies on WP who do NOT have general anxiety or anxiety when [insert common situation here]? Aspies who don't get anxious any more often than an NT would? |

I get sensory overload; but I don't get a great deal of anxiety. Generally, the overload is more like a sense of frustration or else "freezing" than anxiety. It's certainly a negative feeling, very much like "I can't take this anymore," but I wouldn't call it fear. It doesn't have any of the physical signs that anxiety usually does--you know, pounding heart, sweating, muscle tension, headache... If there's physical signs, it's more like I get clumsier and slower than anything else. Simple things seem insurmountably difficult...
On the MMPI, I score average on the psychasthenia scale and unusually low on paranoia.

I do feel anxious sometimes, obviously. A big test gets me on edge. Learning to drive had me alert and cautious and hoping not to do anything stupid. I had a childhood phobia that I've still got some traces of... But all in all, my anxiety level's about normal.
I've done lots of stupid things in social situations. I get embarrassed, but I usually stop being embarrassed after half an hour.
Um. So. Average. _________________ Engineering student. Gamer. Christian. Asexual. Information Addict. Deal with it!

Everyone gets anxious at times.
When I was younger, I was never anxious or worried about anything. But now that I am an adult, I can worry obsessively about some things. It kinda blows lol. |

I plan on December 30th to talk to my neurologist about it.
I believe I have GAD, OCD, and possibly Panic Disorder alongside my AS. _________________ This is your brain.

A few months ago I had horrible social anxiety, but with therapy and a few relation techniques I'm beginning to take control of it.
I do still get moments of anxiety. Once I was very anxious to meet someone and when I spotted them I started to shake. That was actually the first time I would shake. I have more of a rapid heartbeat/ can't breathe anxiety. |

| I used to have it but now I don't because there is nothing that triggers it and I have learned to control it and prevent it from happening. My boyfriend doesn't do anything to cause it but I had it real bad in my last two relationships. |

| My anxiety is pretty bad and even with anti-anxiety drugs its still bad.. but better controlled overall. Plenty of "NT"s have anxiety.. my mother being a good example of that but for many of those under the spectrum, anxiety is worse.. especially when it comes to something all of a sudden interrupting routine. |

I don't. I have the opposite problem: I can't worry. _________________ Everyone's trying to think outside the box, but how am I supposed to get in? |

| I don't get anxious except in the most extreme conditions, and then not much. |

| My middle name is Anxiety. If I have a day without anxiety, I treasure it. I take anti-anxiety medication so that I don't have full blown panic attacks, but I still have the basic undertone of anxiety most of the time. |

I believe everyone who has AS has a higher level of anxiety.
People who don't think so are unaware of it. They don't realize they have anxiety. |
