Lovely, Tory; I love sleeping in nights cool enough for a blanket. Down here in the Phoenix summer its air cond and a fan!

I love sleeping with the noise of a nearby fan.

It's cool enough up here in Red Deer in Central Alberta that most of the time, we don't need a fan or air conditioning.Just have the window open and on really hot nights, I lock my bedroom door and sleep in the buff.My landlady does not have air conditioning in the place.Although we dont have air conditioning and I can't hear the sound of such, my place where I am at it not too far from an overpass going out to the Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2 or Highway 2), that the sound of the traffic is humming quietly and steadily in the background. The QE2 runs north and south between Edmonton and Calgary.Red Deer is right in the middle halfway.

Yeah, I know what you mean - I moved to PHX from Vermont.

The summer here is analogeous to a VT winter: high cost to climatize home, go outdoor prepared for extreem weather, and you spend more time indoors than during other seasons. However, I have never shoveled it!

I have never seen your part of the world, but it is on my to do list!! Do you live anywhere near the coyboy who just took home $88 million? He sounded a lot like me. $88 mill = more time with my horse. For me, it would be more time with my dogs.

Which town is that cowboy from?I dont read the lottery winnings in the paper, since the most I ever won was a free ticket or a toonie.

If I won 98 million dollars...Id pay my parents mortgage off and get them out of debt, then I would put money away for the college education of my siblings donate a million or two to Free Dominion's owners to help them pay their legal fees and help their family while they are still in school...they are good online friends of mine. Then Id keep a bunch of money for myself for while I am in college, then buy a house and a jeep.Id then help my extended family out, donate a fair bit to wrong planet, various asperger groups, then put the rest away for retirement or whatever other toys and things I want.

Well, I guess this was a foolish display of geographical ignorance! You are way north of calgory and the mega-rich coyboy is south of there. But I loved the part about him and his horse, Eleanor. He probably would have been luckier if he'd won less.

…he recently told his horse, Eleanor, that “It’d be nice if we go for a longer ride than usual on a bigger ranch of our own.”

http://www.city.red-deer.ab.ca/default.htm

You will like visiting Red Deer. It's a nice small city with less crime than Edmonton or Calgary. It is about an hour drive going Norht from Calgary, and about an hour drive going south from Edmonton. It has every store that the bigger cities have, but not as heavy or crazy traffic.Red Deer has many trails and parks.I enjoy walking down all the trails listening to my iPod.Red Deer has 200 or so kilometers total of such trails, which makes it an interesting experience for someone like me who enjoys solitary walks. There are also nice pools and there are many parks, and the river is clean and safe to go tubing on.Tubing or floating down the Red Deer river is a favourite summer past time.Laying in the tube and dipping my legs in the water is nice and cool and refreshing on a hot day. Some people float down it on air mattresses.

I think the US congress banned extreem forms of torture like talking about playing in clean safe tubing rivers and dipping legs etc. to people summering in phoenix.

A reminder to stay on topic, the last several posts are remotely on topic but seem to be veering worse off topic. Please keep to the question "What are your favorite sensations" and related things. If you must discuss off topic items please use private message.

Thanks Smile

thank you, strapples - when you're right you're right Embarassed

But...I do love the *sensation* of floating on water. I lived on a sailboat for about four years and rarely had [my constant companion] insomnia because I was gently rocked to sleep (went through a few storms though - yikes!)
