I think that's the most plausible reason. Thanks. |

YMBAAI: you belong to a site in which there are more than two entries about why dictionaries have page numbers.
if people constantly accuse you of looking like you're not paying attention (when you can repeat what just happened word for word.)
if people love how nice and focused you look--when in actuality, you haven't heard anything; you were too busy Trying To Make Eye Contact.
if you're laughing out loud while reading this thread. in a public place. at a table all by yourself. |

YMBAAI you try to take your brother (and gf) out for a meal with some friends, because they were burgled the previous night, but get so confused organising it you almost don't go yourself, even though there are only 3 people to call. _________________ Tangled up and Blue |

That one sounds a lot like me.

That sounds a lot like me too.
I'm thirty eight. I love my Dad. I am always forgetting his birthday. This year I remembered that it's the same day as the Dali Lama's, so in order to find out my Dad's birthday, I googled the Dali Lama.
Happy birthday Dad. I think it's the first time I've posted his card in time for years.
I often forget my own birthday if I'm not home (if I'm home the birthday cards remind me.) I've missed new years on several occasions, not to mention many Christmases.
I don't get why dates are important to most people. But apparently they are, so I'm going to have to buy a wall planner, since I forget to turn the pages on calandars. |

| YMBAAI... you meet up with a cousin you haven't seen for over 8 years and you know her birthday was a day or so ago, so you make her a cake....talk so much catching up, offer her the cake, forget all about "happy birthday" and she comments how she and her friends REMEMBER each others birthdays.... but, don't remember why u made the cake until 1HOUR after she left!!! |

your friend asks you to house-sit for a week while she's on holiday....by the time she's come back you have re-arranged all her furniture, cleaned up the spare room, changed the location of the bird baths outside, cleaned out the fridge/freezer (and had to chuck out most of the contents because they were past their expiry date), got stubborn stains out of the carpet that had been there ten years (because stains just annoy you), used up her download limit (because you didn't realise that she had a limit...) and started letting her inside only cat play out in the backyard during the day because he seemed to enjoy it.
I've never understood why people say "make yourself at home" when they quite obviously don't mean it literally..... |

| YMBAAI you've been documented as getting through complete school years without once speaking to another student or teacher. |

YMBAAI, when you graduated from high school you went and lived in a religious monastery because everyone there had to take a vow of silence and you found it refreshing no one could talk to you and they would finally shut up.
(OK maybe this one is just me.) |

Wow Francis,
I'm in awe of your tenacity and control to be yourself.
How did you manage your curiousity and expression of same?
Cheers and welcome - so many wonderful worlds at WP.

It was severe social phobia and even more severe stubborness. |
