I just got back home from watching the new 'Ice Age" movie, and I completely relate to Sid the Sloth. He's the one that doesn't ever get a joke; always feels alone and so much wants family or friends, but just can't make any friends, and "family" conciders him to be "functionally hopeless "in everyday life ; trys his hardest to do things right, only to goof it up and be ridiculed by all of the others. He is so sincere, but is seen as a complete goof ball/idiot.
That would be just like me.

Tis the sad tale of the modern day hero so to speak while people who have it well off only care about people they don't know. But we just keep on going forth.
Its like thirsting to death in the middle of an ocean what you want is all around you but its not how you can recieve |

Sid also seems to be the Ice Age character that's most similar to me. _________________ Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?

Sid is based on a social stereotype, social stereotype is based on a disorder, this one we have.
You inversed cause and effect. People like emulating people they remember in their art. |

I felt the exact same way after I watched Ice Age 2. _________________ Don't count your problems, count your blessings

You know what kids' movie character kind of resonated with me? Despereaux. Not all of his traits, but the way that he saw different ways of doing things and everyone kept trying to push him back to the "right" way which to him seemed bizarre (for example, he wanted to READ the book but mice are "supposed" to EAT books).
And the way that his family sighed with relief any time it "looked" like he was doing something "normal" even if it was either just a coincidence or done specifically to please them.
And his constant daydreaming. |

| Ice Age The Meltdown is on TV right now and I can see it. Anything he says is automatically dismissed as not serious and having no value. But Sid is the one I'd rather hang out with. I'm always drawn to the people everyone else thinks is odd. They're usually more interesting. |

| I identify with Sid for my autism, or Sheldon from big bang theory, and then there's Daffy Duck for my schizophrenia. Mix them together and you have a pretty good starting point for what I'm like. |

I got a Sid toy from Mc Donalds and I was staring at it the whole time I was in a psychiatrists waiting room. It had a button that made his arms move. I felt like saying to someone 'look Sid stims too.'
I just wanted to share that. _________________ Don't count your problems, count your blessings

I saw Ice Age 3 on a date, and Sid happens to be my fave character because he talks funny (both in voice and lines).
Judging from what I'm reading, Sid is an obvious Aspie. |

Yeah I can definitely relate to Sid, loved the newest movie too. So cool that Simon Pegg was a voice in the latest movie too. |
