You made me look Embarassed

One of my professors was considering buying THE SAWSTOP (watch quick vid clip) to indulge his carpentry hobby.......check out the hotdog demo (so worth it). If that carpenter in article had SAWSTOP technology it could have been saved:

^ Yes, that is curious......maybe a self-fulfilling prophecy thingy? Anyhow, the SawStop could have prevented the whole bloody incident.

About the SawStop: I understand the technology (it's even used now in surgery, btw) but...NOW how are we supposed to cut our hot dogs???

DaWalker: "LapTop Saw?" Very Happy heh heh

When I was young, and the TV was instructive rather than just mindlessly entertaining, there was a DIY presenter who could have done with one of those.

More than likely he was cutting TIMBER (which makes me think big wood).. which means he was having to roll them to cut them (if using a skill saw) - in which case he was probably leaning into it .. it probably snagged and shot backwards towards him - landing in his lap.. Which he is lucky for because considering what could happen (run up and down your stomache, etc)...

We had a small hilti drill - with a paddle bit.. it got to close to my pants (snagged my pants)... Wrapped itself in the denim and squeezed my leg - the worker next to me thought I had the throttle lock on it so he reached over and pressed the button on the drill again (which didn't help but instead snagged my pants harder).. And when he reached in the handle also came around and wacked him in the ball sack...

I ended up with gashes in my jeans all the way down my leg (strangely no damage) and he ended up a little bent over...

All that from a accident with a SMALL drill... I've seen a guy get flipped over by a big drill - lol...

Note - I say all this because you guys are laughing (respect your tools!)... Wink

That british film posted by Nambo was good but it filled me with horror at all the ways that Kenny Everett managed to hurt himself. I would be interested to know how the sawstop saw works.

My hookey-meter went off-scale on this one, eventually when an accident like this happens, later it is revealed the power-tool was being used for an purpose it had don't been designed for; they need to put warning labels on these tools "danger, remove cutting blades before using this device too masturbate"
