I puffed one once trying to mimick my mom but I realized that was a dumb idea and the guilt kept me away.

I don't understand why people even do it. It seems useless. What, you're supposed to rebel against authority by physically declaring you want to die young?! That's insane!! I love my life too much to want to engage in such activity. Plus, it does stink! eew IMO peoples' farts smell better than smoking cigarettes. THAT is how much I can't stand the smell!! Mad BTW, hope the previous statement didn't offend those who do smoke, I've been around smokers before, I just try to sit like, maybe, one foot away from them when I talk to them so I don't feel like coughing and holding my nose every second I'm around them.

I never really understood why people assume that people who smoke feel like they have some kind of dominace over other people, you know? They like turn it into such a big thing when oftentimes people who smoke do it because it's enjoyable.

Honestly I rarely smoke maybe like once every few months or so but when I do it's a very relaxing and stress relieving experience.

All in all, I believe that as long as you aren't harming another being, do what you will!

my opinion: everyone at the age of 2 is to smoke a pack a day, everyone who survives to age 18 is then reqiuered to increase the amount to 2 packs a day, and so on and so fourth

(this should create some contraversy, *evil laugh*)

I hate the smell of cigarettes and cannot understand why people smoke, but if they do, it does not affect my level of respect for them.

i smoke marijuana daily. It really helps me become more social and relax, instead of always being uptight thinking about something i can just stay calm and enjoy the present. Social situations also come to me more naturally probably because im more relaxed and less worried about how im going to f**k up this time.

Even though its definitely not for everyone i say try it at LEAST once, i really think i would of committed suicide a long time ago if it wasnt for marijuana opening my eyes to all the wonderful things in my life that before i just took for granted. stay away from cigs though

I don't smoke, and I don't like the smell, blah. But I don't mind people that do.
I admit though I have been curious sometimes about what smoking a "legal high" would be like, like them herbs and stuff. Embarassed

My opinion on smoking? I have a lot to say about it to be honest. I can describe my feelings of smoking in three ways; hatred, confusion and depression. I hate cigarettes with a passion, I hate smoking in general. I never smoked, and I would rather die than smoke. What I don't understand is what is so appealing about it? I mean really, I just cannot figure it out. It's disgusting, it smells bad and it's such a huge turnoff. Oh and yeah, we all know it kills millions every year. I will admit, I use to be very judgmental and automatically assume that smokers were idiots and losers but I know that's not all true. I use to think most smokers were bad people or outcasts. I know that's not true. Ironically some of the nicest people I have known smoke and I can never get myself to ask them why they do it? In the end, I know not all smokers are bad people, they are just controlled by that filthy product. In the end, I cannot help but feel not only confused but very sad because there are a few people I like who do smoke and I really wish they would stop hurting themselves. I know I cannot stop them. Every time they quit, they always go back. I just hope that if I ever do date a girl someday, I could tolerate her smoking if she is one because I have to face the fact, half the female population(at least in my area) are smokers. Another interesting fact that I do notice is that today, there are much more girl smokers then guy smokers. There really are. As an example, out of 10 girls I know, about 8 of them are smokers. For guys my age, out of 10, about 2 smoke. Strange, huh. In the end, I will never be able to accept smoking but I will have to find a way to tolerate it because it's not going away. Crying or Very sad

I understand the appeal of smoking but I do not do it myself and hope to never take up the habit.

People who smoke around the entrances to public buildings earn my ire; I have no qualms about going up to them and politely telling them to move. Why? My mother has asthma, and I don't like breathing that dren myself.

Smokers who insist on demonstrating a lack of consideration for the non-smokers around them lose a great deal of respect in my mind. They do NOT have a right to force people to breathe smoke, no matter what they or the law say.

Yeah I really dislike that a lot. Even when I smoked I'd walk an extra 100yards further away just so folks going in or out didn't have to do so in a cloud of my smoke. They'd be the first against the wall if I were in charge, they're already there anyway.

Anyone else think that the statistic above for people who have quit is so low because smoking is the ulitmate acceptable stim?

I gave up tobacco 10 months ago but I still can't go a day without smoking (just not tobacco), I have other ways of doing the same thing that don't invilve the lung and sinus irritation I get but I still smoke when I can.
