I'm a dog person. I like cats, mostly other peoples cats, but if I was going to get a pet i'd a get a dog. As my dad puts a cat will use it's litter box than hop up on your counter or table, gross.

I grew up with a dog, a german shepard and collie mix (apparently some doberman in the ancestry as well). The best thing I remember was for some reason when pretending to be frightened of one of my dads friends, my dog was right there between me and him growling away. Otherwise this was the sort of dog that wouldn't hurt a fly. She let little kids rough and tumble all over her. She had amazing amounts of personality, and was amazingly affectionate.

Cats to me always felt as though they just kinda put up with you. You're a handy warm lap for them to lie in if no sunbeam is available. Though I've been bitten and scratched by cats several times, I've never been bitten by a dog.

I trained my cat to keep off the counters, by placing a small amount of essential oil in a dish on the counter. She found it highly offensive, and stopped jumping up there. Even when I no longer placed the oil there, she lost interest.

And, to be honest, dogs can do equally gross stuff. Like licking their rear end, and then licking you. Or, both cats and dogs can transmit worms to their owners, by sleeping on their beds.

I am a dog person. I have been around them my whole life, and they are so much more fun to be around. You can run with them, you can play with them, you can do a lot of things with them that you can't do with a cat.

One great dog I grew up with was a German Shephard that my uncle had. Whenever we called it, she would come up to us, and we would run around our backyard, and Dad would run with it, pretending as though we were going to get her. She was a lot of fun. Very Happy
