activebutodd - if you request that women reply to your thread only, in most cases the request will be respected. I receive little feedback regarding issues in this forum - if there is a problem, please contact me and/or another moderator and we will be glad to address the situation appropriately. There have been rather stellar contributions in this forum from men; there have also be equally abhorrent ones as well. To throw the baby out with the bathwater is an extreme stance, in my opinion.

Sorry, I don't mean to sound extreme. It's just a of a sore spot for me sometimes and I was reacting a bit.
Oh, I thought that the 'can just women reply' was implied, but it's good to know that it will generally be respected if I ask for that specifically.
Thank you makuranososhi! |

I think the rules should be the same. If a woman posts a topic that she does not specify "No male replies" then I think it is fair game. I think some topics go without saying that it should be women only. But there are many "women issues" that I think males can offer advice on. For instance "Do you think I'm overweight?" Well if you get a lot of pre-teen girls together talking about this, one is bound to die of anorexia nervosa before prom, whereas a male can offer good advice here and sometimes more applicable advice, because really what women are trying to look good in front of other women?
To not allow men in here is unconscionable and reprehensible.
As an Aspie I can say that I along with countless others like me have been discriminated throughout our lives. It is not fair to me or any other member here to once again be excluded in a forum that claims to be inclusive of all. |
