My sister found out info. for me she said they'd mention facts etc. I'm not sure what else though if I go what should I expect? Thanks. BTW the whole Spectrum IMO is fascinating not just AS I was captivated by the Autism X6 special on tv. |

"Autism Seminar" seems like something of an oxymoron (at least to me) |

I went to one a couple of years ago at the local university. I was the only person on the spectrum there, and it was awful. There were girls there with some sort of program that supposedly were going to go around visit kids on the spectrum, and I swear they had bathed in perfume and were more likely to choke them. And the parents there were dedicated to getting their kids to stop pursuing their special interests and appear as normal as possible. I asked what harm there was in stimming (assuming it wasn't headbanging, cutting, or something else harmful) and was treated like I was clinically insane.
Hated it.
But that was just one, and I've heard of others that were much better. I'd just advise trying to find out as much about the group holding it before going. _________________ "Nothing worth having is easy."

That would be a no.
No interest, plus it'd totally suck for me in regards to people being around me. |

No, I would maybe go to an Aspergers Seminar, but I think I would be swarmed around as a "miracle" and they would beg for my secret (I was severally Autistic, and now I'm very high functioning) _________________ Even if you feel like you cannot walk anymore, that your legs are tired and there's a snowstorm out, you need to keep walking. Unlikely. For one thing, you'd have to publicly announce how much your functioning has improved; if you don't do such, people probably aren't going to know. For another, if I recall correctly from your prior posts, you were "severe" because you didn't talk until a later age; that's not actually all that severe. _________________ "Nothing worth having is easy."

Yeah.
About half of Wing's patients with AS in her study, the penultimate paper that AS is based on, had delayed development of speech. |

For another, if I recall correctly from your prior posts, you were "severe" because you didn't talk until a later age; that's not actually all that severe. | No RainSong, I was extremely severe (every symptom you could imagine) until I was around 5, then I slowly started getting better. If you want to doubt the validity of my diagnosis...well, my mom would definitely be better to explain what I was like back then.
EDIT: I'm not going to erase this because it is my opinion, but I could see that my words could seem offensive. I am a bit upset about this (you're essentially saying that I'm lying about my diagnosis, which is not something I like to hear), but I don't want to get in a fight about this. You're right that if I didn't mention it, it wouldn't be a problem. I have many points that I haven't mentioned in previous posts and will not mention now that prove that I was severely Autistic when I was younger. You don't need to know that.
Anyways, I'll leave this board, so I don't get in trouble for fighting, even if that's not my purpose. It's hard to be diplomatic when you're upset. _________________ Even if you feel like you cannot walk anymore, that your legs are tired and there's a snowstorm out, you need to keep walking.
