Oh really? |
Indeed, keet - we have individuals here who are pro-cure and anti-cure; those who believe that being on the spectrum is a curse, and those who feel it is a boon; religious and non-theistic alike. When those sentiments are expressed objectively, without attacks upon others, then there is ample room for all opinions. Whether one feels a sense of exclusion because their opinion is a minority one, that is up to the individual.

With, of course the exclusion of topics which would actually reflect poorly of the site. Cure or no-cure, curse or beneficial mutation/next stage of evolution: simple X-men style topic, not truly controversial in the sense of being politically reprehensible. It would actually be worse PR for this site if you silenced the opposition on this autism related issue. Religious views used to be exclusively relegated to PPR only, though there is finally some freedom now. Also, it would be poor PR if the views of Theists were completely silenced, hence the existence of PPR so as to force the conversations of such topics into a place where anything concerning God or Creation would be trounced upon with rapidity and thus discourage its expression. Nice that finally it is no longer forced to stay in PPR as previously, though I'm not sure why that has changed. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/Iamnotaparakeet

The Moderator Attention Forum when I reported misplaced threads and Sinsboldy said that the issues can be discussed outside of PPR as long as they are discussed in a civil manner. Why, would you prefer to continue to have the stigmata of the previous years of operation where you censor peoples abilities to express thoughts and exile them to WP's little version of Hell? _________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/Iamnotaparakeet

Another no voter here. Alex had space to fill, only his own mind to work from, so it is an extention of his person. It has also not changed since I came here. The world view of autism has, that it is just as common in females is a recent view, so it was a point of view that worked, it changed the world.
Alex is a fine example of, "He who governs least governs best."
Alex posted his view, and opened the floor for the views of others.
My own opinions have been agreed with, disagreed with, but never restricted in any way. |

Eh, so what? Sure beats locking threads so that you silence your opposition and then threaten banning if they bring it up again.
Oh, and yes, Thread and not Forum. What-Ev-Er. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/Iamnotaparakeet

Or changing the rules whenever it suits you and you can't out-argue someone you disagree with, or sending abusive PMs then calling foul when people post them for the board to see, or engaging in personal attacks then claiming that you're justified when called on it because "only an insane person could holds views like those"... I think Urban Dictionary needs a new entry under "Moderator", I have a few suggestions... |

"Suspected troll" seems a bit of an understatement... |
Harsh! |
I assume you have been a long time lurker or you looked at his profile and stalked his posts. I'll go with the second choice. |
Sorry to dissapoint you but I am brand new here and I have never read his profile or any of his posts other than the ones that were on the front page that first day. It's not like an Aspie to be as assumptuos as you... |

Oh really? I suppose the statements immediately following this misstatement are the necessary caveats to qualify, and negate, this statement. |

1) You're welcome to try and find a misstatement; at best, I believe you will find a difference of opinion.
2) It appears that we are reaching confusion between having an opinion and how one chooses to express that opinion. Big difference.

I have not personally ever encountered any direct evidence that any of the current “moderating members” are misbehaving, acting corruptly, abusing their position, or are not otherwise fit for their roles. I do expect I’d have seen some evidence of this by now if there were any truth to the routine and nearly stereotyped accusations that sometimes occur and look exactly like those that routinely occur on every other forum I have ever frequented. |

Read the three locked threads further down in this forum; "another locked thread", "**Where has my thread gone and why**, and "this politically correct madness has to stop**", or if you're really feeling ambitious, dig through this forum for some of the other mod complaint threads where it is explicitly stated that what the users of this site want doesn't matter, they have no accountability, etc etc. If you're not seeing the "evidence", I'd check your eyesight before claiming it doesn't exist. |
