I always have issues sorting laundry. Simply put I'm trying to only do two loads at a time; one lights/whites/ & one of darks. I have some other brighter colored clothes as well (not worth it to be its own load though). Just wondering what is safe to throw in w/ darks & which w/ lights/whites & which go w/ neither (I've washed all articles before at least three times already w/ no bleeding)? Everything else goes w/ dark or light just fine (wash everything on delicate b/c of mixed fabric types & limited to dorm machines).

1. rainbow socks (faded slightly but still rainbow)
2. turquoise blue & lightly patterned on the front Cirque`(bad w/ spelling) top
3. bright/dark blue top (darks?)
4. Other teal shirt (darks?)
5. light blue tank (I'm guessing ok w/ lights b/c its old)
6. tye dye shirt (mostly white & its 1 yr old at least/color stays just fine/guessing either load ok)
7. hot pink tee

I wouldn't throw colors in with whites, that's all I really know. I apologize.

Think of it as bleach or no bleach. Dark or bright things can swim together in the cool water. If you are concerned, turn items inside out. Just watch out for light color fuzzies getting on dark things.

still just put everything together and wash and dry. It seems to work fairly well.

My mother taught me that put bright colors with whites will work and dark colors together. It has work for me since I use cold water all the time.

Another issue is I cannot control the water temp (automatically washes hot-warm-cold at the end). Does temp make colors bleeding more likely? (All I know is reds bleed the most, possibly)

Another issue is texture and wear-and-tear: I have some printed t-shirts that are getting thin and the printing is wearing away. I try to wash them separately from heavy and coarse fabrics like towels and jeans, to minimize the abrasion they suffer in the washer.
