It took watching a few interviews and also acoustic versions of Poker Place while playing piano. I gained some respect for her then. She is very knowledgeable about music, and hates interviewers who only want to talk about sex and money. Most people who don't like her dismiss her out of hand after listening to a few tracks or videos, and compare her to Britney and Xtina. But I think we're in for some pleasant surprises in the future. She's a chameleon like Bowie of yesteryear so expect radical changes from time to time. Paparazzi is one great video BTW.
Anyone with even a very small amount of musical talent can make a catchy beat. It could be anyone singing over said beat. I'd give more credit to the guy making her beats or the guy composing her songs (I doubt she composes them herself).
Actually she does. She started as a composer/producer in the music industry. Its not some dude making the stuff. If you bothered to look into her more you would realize this. She went to Juliard. In reality she created an image/songs to be popular. She did it while being herself...and also presenting an absurdity. The more I looked into her, the more I liked her.

She's definitely to pop for my tastes, but I respect her because of how she got where she is. She's very smart, and basically fought her way to the top. She won't be popular forever, but I have a feeling her career is just beginning.
I'm so glad this forum took a turn. At first it was me and a bunch of haters. Shadfly I love the Paparazzi video and the VMA performance was MIND BLOWING. I've watched both of them more times than I can count. Paparazzi is also my favorite song of all time! I mean all time. I doubt I'll ever like a song as much as that one again but I hope I do.
Oh and whoever said she lipsyncs is WRONG...she never has and never will. Just watch Transmission Gagavision episode 40 on youtube. I would post it but I don't know how.
Shadfly, I really really loved those videos you posted of Gaga before she was famous. I watched both of them and I've heard the songs before but never saw a video of her performing them. My favorite part of the second video was when the lady said Nora Jones look out. Hahahaha right now she is the farthest thing from Nora Jones I can think of. Thank you for posting it! You should post again after the concert and tell me us how it was.
