Does anyone here use VMware? What is the difference between 6.5 and 7, as I don't see enough to warrant upping the major version number. _________________ When faced with my demons, I clothe them and feed them

I don't, but maybe you should have a look at VirtualBox? _________________ /Bear Spirit, undiagnosed: AvPD and SPD |

I have 6.5.2. From what I gathered the major improvements are more CPUs per vm and WDDM driver (can use Aero now but I've heard that this driver has problems with other DirectX programs).
If you have a license for VMware, then there's not much point trying VirtualBox except that it's free. It's slower and less capable (VMware's snapshot and IDE integration is light years ahead). The only positive aspect is partial OpenGL acceleration in guest. |
