I just read this book!

WOW.

It is my life story.

My wife was with me as I was reading aloud and I kept interjecting; 'see that's me'.

I felt like a chlid as I was reading it. I had a wonderful feeling of happiness as I read it.

It was incredibly validating.

If you haven't got a copy, get one on Amazon NOW.

I am getting some extra copies for my (few) friends and my mother.

The author is Kathy Hoopman

Oh and by the way, that isn't a misprint in the Subject line.

The book uses Asperger not Asperger's

Wink

Agreed...great book! We got it to help explain Aspergers to our 6 year old. She was thrilled to be able to draw a connection between herself and her cat. Her comment after reading the book was "THAT is why my kitty is my best friend! We have the same kind of brain!"

I gave this book to my teenage daughter and she told me that it reminded her of me!

That's what I thought! Does that mean I'm 'psycho and hear voices in my head and obey them'? Laughing A teacher of mine once described cats like that, as they can be so funny when they're excited and playing. Laughing But who cares if they are. They're quite charming. And I'm glad I have anything in common with them. Very Happy After all, I go on missions just as they do, and don't get distracted while I'm on one.lol

I love that book! It's so cute. A friend gave it to me as a birthday present a few years ago, but unfortunately I lost it. I plan on buying a new copy.

I have that book. It perfectly explains the difficulties of autism beautifully. And the cats are cute! Smile

I love that book.

I'm a cat person more than a dog person but my favorite animals are gerbils (followed by other rodents). I wonder if gerbils have AS tendencies....I haven't seen any though. But that' s a great book.

Well, although we do have cats, my wife and daughters adore them, I haven't been a cat person until now.

I think after reading this book through, about 6 times now, I am probably becoming a cat person.

I also think that this book can be a great source of comfort, for me at least, during difficult AS moments.

I read that book at a friends house, though I was mainly reading it for the pictures and their comedic value, it was a very interesting book.

Great book. Got it at Christmas from my Mom, having 'hinted' I'd like to get that book during the previous year. Hilarious pictures and that's indeed exactly why there's a black one of that species my bestest friend in the whole wide world. Razz
