I am not sure about myself. I have a poor self image. I am occasionally able to photograph well with a little trickery...but I am sure that though from one angle...and with my "stage makeup", my face is passable, the whole of my being is rather physically flawed. I am lucky to have one good angle...Any other angle and the illusion goes to hell...I am short, with ugly hands, weird posture, a double chin...etc...

As far as how I judge other people...I feel largely neutral about the appearance of most people.
I can maybe objectively see in them what others may see as being their physically attractive features if I focus on that...but I usually don't focus on that.

Its very rare for people to right out call me attractive, mostly b/c I get pissed off if someone (even in my family) calls me pretty or beautiful. W/ guys, I think I prevent any comments about my looks by saying I'm asexual + possibly being unattractive. But oddly enough I had a female friend tell me "you look gorgeous" recently when she saw me coming in for dinner (I'm on campus). This didn't make sense b/c I had my head down (she lifted it too) & she's not a lesbian (she's gotten offers from girls b4 & turned them down). This just a girl thing I don't get? I've also been told by 1-2 guys that "you've definitely got boobs" when I said I was the smallest girl their (I hang out w/ nice weirdos where both the guys & girls compare breast size Confused Laughing). I also had an instance in HS where a friend interpreted a guy I knew had a crush on me b/c he kept staring at me after I had a panic attack b/c he surprised me (this went on for months until he graduated). I keep getting mixed signals, either comments saying I'm attractive in what I'm guessing are non-flirtatious (this a word Confused ) situations or staring & no comments. I'm confused! Confused (Frustration level at practically Crying or Very sad )

I think my ability to tell who's ugly and who's pretty is getting better as my ability to recognize people improves.

I was wondering if anyone else doesn't have a clear idea of what he or she looks like. And I don't mean not knowing how you rate on a beauty scale, but rather, not remembering your features. I'm always looking in the mirror, because I tend to forget what I look like, and every time it's like a surprise.

I don't know. I don't know what people think about me if I'm attractive or not, sometimes I think I'm ugly, sometimes I don't.

Now where the hell did I put that time machine? Very Happy

I want that time machine too. I look a lot cuter to my middle aged eyes than I remember being. Now the best I can hope for is "not bad...for someone your age".

Aspy eyes can be critical....and see fault too remember....see the details, not the whole picture.
So DONT look in the mirror on days where you are in that mode!!! (Anorexia/body dysmorphia is more prevalent in AS brains too) You may just see your ears, or a small bit of fat, and not notice the rest of you actually blends in to other people, so to them you are not fat or just a big nose (or in my case, I think Im a big chin, with a bit of face attached)

When you refer to "Aspy eyes" are you refering to an autistic person's gaze or what? Do we all have a similar "eye light"? Confused
