I get PMS symptoms sometimes a week, even a week and a half once before my period comes, and my PMS symptoms (cramping, really bad mood swings, etc) are way worse then my period (basically just heavy bleeding). Does anybody else get really long PMS symptoms?
Oh, I should mention that sometimes my PMS is at a regular time, only about half the time it's a week/week and a half.

7 to 10 days prior is pretty standard for me to get a bit grouchy, testy and food cravings for salty/ sweet. No big deal though really. I just don't make demands on myself. I let myself out of it emotionally, not making big decisions when I feel sleepy and grumpy. I let myself just do what I need to do and it lessens the intensity of any difficult symptoms. Also changing to whole foods diet and cutting dairy, wheat and fake sweetners helped my overall cycle.

Oh good I'm glad you brought this up b/c I didn't know if it was normal or not.

I get it 2 weeks prior to it. Whenever I gripe about it, I have people ask me how that can possibly be and then have symptoms regarding my period.

I guess for me it's almost like having the flue for a long time. Very annoying depending on how well I try and take care of myself regarding diet and exercise. I'm very sensative to it so I have to stay away from salty and sugary foods.

Sometimes my back hurts a bit a day before my period starts, and then I get cramps the first day or two and get really sleepy. I don't think that I really have any mood symptoms though.

I get no symptoms at all. My periods are barely noticeable, actually. I'm a real wuss when it comes to physical discomfort, so I will count my blessings.

my breasts start to fill out and become sore about a week before, the day before I stop eating and most of the time I scream at my poor husband.

Used to be 4 or 5 days before for me, but lately it has extended to up to 10 days before , so I spend half my month ranting and raging and generally suffering appalling moods.

Really makes one resent being a female.

About a week before my period starts.
My breasts become a cup size larger and they become sore and tender. The things that normally irritate me will irritate me even more. I get frequent headaches and I will cry easily.

But no matter what, I never, ever yell at anyone. I always make sure to be extra logical and analytical during my PMS time, so that I keep my mood swings under control.
(Note: this does not mean I am "bottling my emotions up." I do find calmer and more appropriate ways to express and relieve myself of negative emotions, such as listening to music, or typing a blog and then never posting it. Very Happy )

My symptoms start about two weeks in advance when the zits decide to start, too. :/ Horrible.

My mood swings really weird out my boyfriend. I don't get angry, but back and forth happy sad happy sad.

I think it's funny that he things it's a bad thing for himself, that he has to put up with these mood swings. What about me? Duh.
