when i worked in a hospital, i perspired like a pig. it was a maternity ward where they kept the temp at 80+ so the newborns wouldn't get hypothermic, and i was always HOT and sweaty. i hated this, i ended-up having to get a cooling vest to wear underneath my hospital scrubs. it could be freezing outside and i would still be flushed and sweaty for an hour after work, even wearing just shorts and nothing else. even now in advanced years i have not cooled down one bit, and still wear a net-mesh undershirt for outerwear all the time.

what was weird about the maternity ward was that there were folk at the opposite end of the temperature regulation spectrum - these folk always wore sweaters and thought 80 degrees was too COLD and were always jacking the thermostat even higher. so i am wondering who on WP belongs to which camp- always too HOT or always too COLD or JUST RIGHT?

i am usually too warm when co-workers complain of being cold.
they tend to be those who are really overly skinny, no body fat.

I don't like warmth. But other people, especially stupid plastic girls, like to say it's too coooold!
I'd like to live in Skandinavia!

I am usually colder than most people, but because I know this, I always take a jersey with me when I leave home, even on warm days. I don't even bother to have a fan or air conditioner at home. My legs do swell terribly in the heat, though (I have lymphoedema). From about 2002 to 2005 I shared an office with a guy (whom I think must have also had AS -- I wasn't dignosed back then either) and we both had exactly the same temperature preferences. Besides that, most people want it colder when I am feeling OK with the heat.

I work with a friend (diagnosed ADHD, some AS traits) who has that heat problem. She gets dizzy, her hands get clammy, even when it really doesn't seem exceptionally hot. And she easily smells of sweat. (She is overweight but she was like this even when she was thin.) She gets this way especially when walking on a warm day. She has numerous ailments and she thinksthis may be due to a gynaecological problem, because all her female relatives have problems. Possibly even some kind of early menopause-like thing. She's in her late 20s.

I want to move to Scandinavia too. I also have an overheating problem.

I always find that I'm a little too hot, especially in the summer. Most of the people that I know, love summer. Not me. I like it better, in the winter, when I don't feel as hot.

I have both going on. I have reynaus which is where I have no tempature regulation in my hands and feet...I say I have lizard limbs cause if it is too cold my hands are very cold and if it is hot..my hands are very hot. I have to wear gloves in 50 degree weather and getting stuff out of the freezer is very painful and I have to wash my hands in warm water cause if I use cold water...my hands turn the tempature of the water.

Then on the other side, my body gets hot very easily and I could not work on that maternity ward cause anything over 75 degrees and I am sweating like a pig. I used to live in Georgia and those 100+ F days were pure hell...anything over 88 degrees was torture which is half the year there. I moved to Minnesota since then and love the cold but I have to wear heavy gloves and special insulated shoes in the winter when it gets -0 F.

Ohh did you know that below 0 F, your nose hairs freeze...really weird sensation. You walk outside...it is -10 F and suddenly, your nose hairs cystalize and pull together. Whats even better, is that freezing nose hairs is a acceptable topic of conversation in Minnesota.

YES OMGOSH MY WHOLE LIFE!! ! its partly related to sensory, and i wish i could cure it, it plagues my life, i have to wear a sock on my leg at all tiems and a sleave on one arm at all tiems, it sucks, i have a special portable ac, and portable heater because i cant ever regulate it, and its the worst EVER! I have it extremely severe, that i have parts of my body getting hot or cold, and it gets so bad i literally go into SIB to stop it, i can go from extremely sweaty to shaking blue cold in a matter of seconds, and i cna jus have it on my one ear or maybe my one legs and i wont be able to rest or be relaxed at all, and this happens 247, its aprt of my severe sensory problems, i would do anything literally anything to get rid of it, i cant sleep good due to it, live good, im constantly wanting to beat myself cuz i cant regulate it at all. and im also allergic to the cold so if i get too cold my throat closes, and im allergic to water so if i get too sweaty i get extreme hives it sucksk!! ! so thank you for postin this, and now knowin im not the only one!! !!

I'm always hot. I get really uncomfortable above 70 degrees Fahrenheit or so, and if it hits 80, I basically shut down.

My hands and feet are usually ice cold, even if I don't feel cold.

I have more problems with cold. My fingers will turn dead marble white sometimes in pleasant weather- probably a circulatory thing. I have Reynaud's phenomena. It was worse when I was really underweight.

I'm a too-cold person. I recall ine instance a couple of years ago when I was doing homework outside, and as the sun began to set, it got difficult to type because my fingers were going numb. It was 62F outside at the time.

I hated the weather last summer. My summer job was nearly 100% outdoor work, and here in Iowa, we had exactly ONE week of 95+ degree weather in late June. I froze my butt off the rest of the time. Hope this coming summer turns out to be a scorcher!

Funny thing is, I do like winter kayaking, hiking, and camping, as well as cross-country skiing. I just have to have WAY more clothing layers, blankets/sleeping bags, etc. than the average person. :)

I couldn't really choose because there was no option for me. I'm almost always either too hot or too cold. I'm usually too cold, but sometimes I'm too hot. Rarely am I at a comfortable temperature. Even in the summer, I get very cold at times.

I'm very often too hot, and as a result, I sweat really badly, to the point where I have to change my t-shirt several times a day every day due to the huge and embarrassing sweat stains under the arms and down my back, it's very annoying.....

For me its weird because I tend to keep my coat on long after I enter a building but at the same time, I never wear a scarf perhaps out of laziness (I live near Toronto).
