I agree. While the remark was unlikely to have been intentionally offensive, I can understand why you found this distasteful Tali. An apology perhaps chadmaster?

Many European cities changed names and even countries after the two world wars.

The Prussian city Königsberg on the Baltic Sea is now the Russian enclave Kaliningrad. The German philosopher Immanuel Kant was born there. It is not far from the Polish city Gdansk, which used to be the Prussian city Danzig. The German writer Günther Grass ("The Tin Drum") and actor Klaus Kinski (known from several spaghetti westerns and Werner Herzog movies) were born there.

The German city Breslau is now the Polish city Wroclaw. Many of the Polish citizens came from the city Lwow, which is now the Ukrainian city L'viv (it used to be the Austrian city Lemberg before WWI).
