Anyone keenly aware of subtle differences in both sides of their body? Like along the lines of the right side working well, but the left side not quite as good - and very subtle symptoms displaying themselves in such activities as: two drumsticks and a snare drum, playing the piano with both hands, rope jumping, taking a dive off the low diving board above a swimming pool, and so on? Anyone find that the label used for this is mild dyspraxia? Other terms like crossing the midline of the body and body balance?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but left-right differentials tend to indicate brain tumors and strokes.

More examples: Trying to juggle three rubber balls in the air with two hands for thirty seconds, tapping either the right foot or the left foot to music, using a musical baton to direct a small band and finding the process of matching the baton to music difficult, and so on.

Continuity of gross and fine motor control, rhythm, as in a simple dance like a waltz, etc.

The left side of your brain, controls the entire right side of the body. Like wise, the right side of the brain, controls the left side of the body. The other hand won't be as perfectly coordinated as the main hand, but it's very minor. If it's a very big difference, then maybe something is up.

My thoughts

I think what Pgd meant was, do any of us have better motor skills on one side than the other. Personally I can catch with my right hand, but try to catch with my left hand, nope can't do it. Plus I'm clumsy when it comes to walking too close to something on my left side.

It's a symptom of Nonverbal Learning Disorder, which is viewed by many to be a different look on Asperger's Syndrome.

Yeah, I notice fine motor movements with my left hand feels clumsier than with my right. (I'm very right hand dominant). I also think I'm very aware of my body to the point of triggering hypochondria.

Yeah, I have a weakness in the left side of my body. I drive on the left hand side of the road, and thus use a right hand drive car. I don't own a manual transmission but I did notice I had difficulty changes gears and stopping my foot from slipping off the clutch, both using my left side. I also have problems cutting my nails using my left hand and I notice various other small difficulties. My balance isn't great either and I can feel and see the difference in strength of the two sides, when I lift weights. It's very difficult for me to maintain a good form with my left hand.

So if im by far left brained dominant would that mean i should be strong on my right side, ie right handed and footed then??

But im very much lefthanded/footed!

Is that quite rare?

I can tell a difference between a car with manual transmission (requires shifting) vs an automatic (where shifting is done automatically). I prefer the automatic. - pgd

Yeah, or being frigging right-handed. Go and give the OP a panic attack, why don't you!

For me, it's the left side of my body that works well, and my right side, is the weaker side. Every single injury that I've experienced, has always happened to the right side of my body.

this is part of autism. one side of your brain does not work as good as the other side which usually means the side that works good works twice as good. this is why they say left handed people are creative, right handed people are technical.
