Does anyone here know anything about this?

Quote:
This article details events in musical history that are central to understanding and treating modern psychopathology, social aggression, political corruption, genetic dysfunction, and cross-cultural degeneration of traditional values risking life on earth. This history concerns A=440Hz “standard tuning,” and the Rockefeller Foundation’s military commercialization of music. The monopolization of the music industry features this imposed frequency that is “herding” populations into greater aggression, psychosocial agitation, and emotional distress predisposing people to physical illnesses and financial impositions profiting the agents, agencies, and companies engaged in the monopoly. Alternatively, the most natural, instinctively attractive, A=444Hz (C5=528Hz) frequency that is most vividly displayed botanically has been suppressed. That is, the “good vibrations” the plant kingdom obviously broadcasts in its greenish-yellow display, remedial to emotional distress, social aggression, and more, has been musically censored. Thus, a musical revolution is needed to advance world health and peace, and has already begun with musicians retuning their instruments to perform optimally, impact audiences beneficially, and restore integrity to the performing arts and sciences. Music makers are thus urged to communicate and debate these facts, condemn the militarization of music that has been secretly administered, and retune instruments and voices to frequencies most sustaining and healing.

Sounds like nonsense to me, but I'm all for musicians developing new systems of music theory and exploring non-standard pitches.

*plays A=440Hz on metronome*

It's... slightly annoying, but I don't see the problem.

This, too.

It'd be pretty neat if more western music (from classical to rock) started incorporating more quarter tones.

We were working secretly for the military.
Our experiment in sound was nearly ready to begin.
We only know in theory what we are doing.
Music made for pleasure, music made to thrill
It was music we were making here until...

They told us all they wanted was a sound that could kill someone from a distance
so we go ahead and the meters are over in the red -
Its a mistake in the maklng.

Makes sense to me, Lee. I find modern pop music offensive to my body, mind and soul. Obviously atonal music is either very stimulating or very irritating, and even stressful. Stressed bodies get sick.

It's likely that most material on the television is similar, and the sound of TV winds me up to f**k.

Have you ever heard of 'brainwave entrainment'? Certain frequencies have certain effects on the body and mind.

Apparently the earth has a 'hum' with a peak at around 7.80hz. It's called the Schumman resonance. When I used to make music, I liked to tune all my instruments to harmonics of that.

I once read about how plants exposed to certain frequencies grow like Billio. I never got around to trying that one for myself.

I thought I had heard of just about everything until a few moments ago! But yes, I do know we human beings can be variously affected by sounds, rhythms and so on. Some of the noise coming from cars going past my home cause me to want to reach for a shotgun. But for now, I just wonder how there could be enough difference between 440Hz and 444Hz to alter how people might react or respond to music based on either.

you-are-what-you-is spoke my mind on this one (the Frank Zappa pic adds credibility as well). I doubt any one tone can impact the psyche to any great degree; music (or vicious noise) must be either very loud or more complex to begin to affect mood.

I'm sorry, I couldn't grasp the quote. Something about mind control via music?

I think the initial thought here is more about affecting/effecting certain moods via music as opposed to outright "mind control", and the article I linked suggests music played with A=440Hz as its tuning base is troubling where music is said to be soothing or more pleasant when A=444Hz. In other words, maybe a tuning where A=440Hz is "off" just enough to cause a dissonance with nature.

Reminds me of the mood-stimulating spinets and electronic organs that Louis Rosen used to sell in the Philip K. Dick novel We Can Build You.

both seem just as annoying. but find out for yourself. Maybe one of you could do an experiment with rats in different rooms? http://educate-yourself.org/nch/
and the download link thats buried in there.. http://www.nch.com.au/tonegen/index.html

On a side note, if there is real science behind this, then why must they make personal attacks on people to further the point?

I believe I heard something to this end while watching a video on Nikola Tesla, it seems maybe he came up with the idea?

This makes sense to me cuz I noticed that music has a strong effect on its listeners. When I listened to heavy metal, my mental functiong deteriated and I was more prone to meltdowns. But I quit listening to most popular music because of the effect it has on my inner peace. I do like older music though, Jazz, blues, 50,60's and some classical, orgional regae and world beat, rock opera.
This come as no surprise to me.

If you imagine that a human being 'vibrates' (ie. exists, because everything is vibration) best at certain frequencies, then throwing frequencies at them of even a few hertz or mHz difference could have an effect.

It's like geometry; you wouldn't want an architect that couldn't tell the difference between 90 degrees and 89 degrees. His buildings would come out pretty wonky.

Of course, I'm not a scientist, I'm just a weirdo.

I may go boot up audacity and make some audio.

I don't know, I'm used to hearing tuning at A=440 now, so I might be more aggravated by something that sounds out of tune than I would be with that. Besides, since you usually play more than one note in a song, I can't really see how this is supposed to work. Surely a lot more would be required than 'aggressive tuning' to make people angry.
