I once saw a picture of a Playboy model next to a woman in full burqa. It was captioned: no wonder those guys are always angry.
Anyway, terrorism is a little more complex than this, although I suspect that sexual frustration does play a part in it.
Most of those young men have gone to religious schools. They have no formal education, no future, no prospects, nothing to live for, no clue in the world other than what came from the religious texts and the mouth of their priest. Add the lies they've been spoon-fed about the good life in afterlife, and why not blow themselves up? I cant' decide whether this is sad or just pathetic. |

No one should have to be, its just so morally and ethically corrupt. Sex is the biggest thing that a person needs in order to get self growth and progression. When its not there or it is being deliberately denied, then I can fully support whatever the person does next in order to help themselves. |

i think most of the motivation behind terrorism is political, but the assurance of gifts in the afterlife can't hurt the recruitment levels.
perusing the internet, it appears that many muslim people have arranged marriages, so sexual frustration is not likely as a cause...
plus, many terrorists are married.

The leaders, the people pulling the strings such as Bin Laden, sure it is political for them. But what drives the masses of young men willing to die for the leaders? They are the instrument of terrorism. See my earlier post.

considering that 'missionary is so named because of christian repression (though missionaries probably did not actually promote the position), i'd say that this argument does not fly. they may be getting amazing sex indeed in the marital bedroom(s) (remember many of them are polygamist)... really, you have no basis for assumption there.
but definitely their heaven sounds like more fun that the christian heaven. so how come there are so many christian terrorists?

The low-level suicide bombers might succumb to the lure of the 72 virgins. These are usually just kids who have crappy lives and have nothing better to do with them. Fill thier heads wih purpose and they're ready to go.
That doesn't explain the higher-ups though. These guys are often married, well educated, and have spent time in western culture with liberated sex lives. Thier devotion runs much deeper than youthful angst. |
