As a short term solution, I imagine it would be very effective. A bully will not go after someone that broke their nose on the first pass. That said, it does nothing to alleviate the psychological/emotional cause of bullying, nor does it help with children's health. _________________ When I allow it to be

| How are they defining bullying here? Hitting someone once out of anger isn't bullying. |

Two unrelated subjects? Unless the hitting is done in retaliation FOR bullying. _________________ "There is a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart,

I apologize but could you be a bit more specific about WHAT in that article is totally unacceptable to you? I am confused because there is so much statistics! It doesn't surprise me in this day and age that so many teens are bullying/being bullied. It's 'cool' and 'normal' to bully or to react with violence (that's not my opinion by the way). You see it in the media ALL the time. _________________ I have ASC, ADHD, OCD, Tourette syndrome, dyspraxia and depression all diagnosed. I'm in there somewhere! |

I hit people to vent my anger as a toddler and as a child. _________________ I'm not weird, you're just too normal. |

I remember back in school how when someone hit me and I hit them back, I would get suspended while the first kid didn't. If I told them why I hit the kid, I would always get the "Two wrongs don't make a right" routine.
That's if I hit back. Usually I got suspended after retailiating, but at least once I got disciplined for reporting getting bullied. _________________ www.Last.fm/user/BadMoonReaper

I've hit bullies out of anger. Oddly enough, getting the crap beaten out of them made them not want to bully me anymore. Shocking!
I never got in trouble for it, either, since I always stopped once a teacher intervened (and not a second before), and since I never did anything else I would get in trouble for. I never got in trouble for it with my parents either, since they both knew I never started the fights and that I gave whoever it was plenty of warning beforehand.

Well, what can another kid do to alleviate the cause? Not all that much, I'd imagine. _________________ I'm never gonna dance again, Aspie feet have got no rhythm. |
