Anyone else can't stand it when somebody is sitting there doing really loud groans when they yawn?! Ohh, it drives me insane. My brother is one person I know who delibrately does loud yawns, and because I interpret sounds different from NTs, it really bothers me more, and nobody else seems to understand.
Coughing and sneezing can annoy me to a certain degree, but I also know that people can't always control sneezes and coughs, but that loud roar people do when they yawn is a noise what they don't need to do. When I yawn, I yawn quietly.
Sometimes when people yawn loud it makes me jump, and it just really annoys me. It's not very nice when you're in the sitting-room on lazy afternoon with lots of family over, and somebody is sitting next to you doing really loud deafening yawns in your ear every few minutes. Does this drive anyone else mad, or is it just me?

I wouldn't say it's the most annoying thing in the world for me, but yes I do hate when people yawn loudly. Especially when they sit back and stretch their arms etc. It seems like making a display of something for no reason, and the sound gets on my nerves. Also when people clear their throat too loud, I get that it needs to be done, but it's not necessary to amplify it..

I think I get more annoyed with people chewing up food than yawning. It isn't all the time, but sometimes sound is amplified to a loud level in my head to the point where it becomes distracting. And sighs like everything is a huge burden can get to me if it is repetitive with a particular person.

I also don't care for loud yawns, all that much. Sure the person is tired, but do they have to advertise it to the world? If a person is going to yawn, they should do it quietly.

Hm. :chin:
I don't mind 'em so much when the yawn comes out as an 'eurrrrrrrrrrhaa', but loud 'hngaaaaaawrghs' are frankly unbearable.

I also cannot abide the way that people generally insist on inhaling altogether too audibly and emitting croaky 'nrrrrrmmms' upon awakening. :wall:

one of my cats didn't like it when I yawned and would always bat my face in a playful way when I yawned. Another didn't like it when I whistled.

I yawn really loudly sometimes but I don't think I grunt while I do it. I also sometimes make weird noises because I have sinus issues & problems breathing from my nose or have stuff stuck in my throat. I've been corrected/fussed quite a lot when I was a kid because of stuff like that by lots of people because it's being rude & offensive. My mom still comments about it sometimes :x It's not something I can really help or control thou. I can try to control it but it's very uncomfortable & difficult sometimes. I do sometimes get annoyed when others around me are doing stuff like that but I do not make comments about it(unless it's a friend who I joke around with & stuff) & I try to avoid letting it bother me because I have problems myself & it's something I have very little control over

I agree with you. I do not see the point in exagerating something, except for attention whores.

OMG... I can't believe someone else out there hates this as much as I do. This is my biggest pet peeve of all time. The woman I share an office with moans and groans with yawns all day and secretly it drives me CRAZY. I honestly don't know if I have autism, I work with kids with autism and my dad is a genius and rocks back and forth uncontrollably. So I probably do have it, but I don't care. I HATE loud yawning. I think it is so rude and something that should be done in the bathroom. It is like taking a crap in front of someone. It is rude. THank you for posting this.

I can't help but yawn loudly. And if I stretch while doing it it's because it gets rid of that "sleepy" feeling in my muscles, improves circulation and eases tension. Cats and dogs do it, why can't I? Seems in the middle of the afternoon I go through a yawn-fest, especially when I'm out doing things. I tell people it must be that time of day... when I'm awake. Ha ha.

I don't like loud yawing in public especially when people don't put their hand over their mouth. You can see people tongue and teeth, but in private it's a different story. I'm guilty of yawing without my hand over my mouth, but I didn't know manners very well.

People blowing their noses in restaurants without going to the bathroom is worse if you ask me and people loudly clearing their throat....
