Another thread gave me the idea for this one. As an Aspie (or someone on the spectrum, Aspie or other), what do people sometimes or often say to you? or about you if you prefer. Something you think may be related to one (or more) of your Aspie traits.

One thing people say to me sometimes: Do you think I'm stupid? Mr. Green

(due to my tendency to speeches and to explain sometimes the same thing in different ways)

Smile! (Complete strangers often like to bring it to my attention that I don't look happy enough for them even though I'm usually in a good mood before they point this out ... not so much after.)

People used to tell me to "smile" a lot when I was younger. And after I realized I was supposed to share my interests with others my mother finally broke down and screamed to me that she didn't want to hear anymore about it.

people tend to tell me that I am smart...but in a way that they seem suprised that I am
btw...I dont think I am that smart, but people tend to think I am stupid until I say something I learned on Nat Geo or discovery channel. I have endless thirst for information, but I dont think that makes me smart...it makes me eternally curious

Yeah I get that a lot too, from strangers as well, in stores etc, smile, are you upset, what's wrong, etc ... when I am perfectly fine to start with, it can be pretty annoying

I'm called retarded or weird all the time.
I'm also often called smart when I display my scientific literacy.

Talk!
Say something!
Cheer up!
Could you stop talking? You're being loud. (sarcastic)
Why are you so quiet?
Are you okay?
"Hello Rob, how are you? I'm fine thanks." (what my brother says when I don't talk to him)
Have a beer!! (my brother)
Why don't you learn to drive? (my brother)

"Are you okay?"
"Are you mute?"
"What's your problem?"
"You never smile ... how come?"
"You're cute."
"You have to talk!"

"You're very quiet." / "Why don't you talk much?"
"Are you okay?"
"You look worried." / "Why are you nervous?"
"Smile." / "You look miserable."
Basically the same as most of the other posts.
Also my Mum always used to say to me, when we went shopping, "Why aren't you enthusiastic?"... Am I supposed to scream with excitement because I see an item of clothing that I like? I don't get it.
I would like to learn how to not appear 'worried' though, because it gets annoying people always asking me what's wrong.

Smile
Why aren't you happy?
You don't seem happy to see me.
What's wrong?
What's wrong, Mick?
You look so sad...do you remember me?
