I have always done this, and my Son does it also. We both find it hilarious! I used to do this a lot as a kid, and I have also often done this as an adult. I just have these silly little phrases that I sing, and I sing them often lol My Son takes a lot of delight in making up silly words and then expecting everyone to laugh lol (he is now 6). He also loves making up songs with silly words in them and we just sing utter nonsense together and giggle lots.

I just read in a book that this can be an aspie thing. Do other people here do this too? (or are my Son and I on our own on this one? ;) lol)

I do this all the time. I come up with silly, rhyming names for things. I also come up with some nonsense phrases, just because I like them. Is this an Aspie trait? I don't know. I just do it.

Yes, that's it! That kind of thing! :) I just find myself doing it all the time, it's quite pleasurable lol

I read it in a google book today, but can't recall which one :( I was like "oh wow, that is interesting!". I haven't come across it anywhere else so far though...

I have a slight variation to that....I make up background vocals to popular songs. For example, a song containing lyrics which hold a single word over several beats annoys me, so I sing background vocals by adding additional words to maintain the rhythm.

You will find that many people do something like this. Awhile ago on another forum we started talking about things we only thought we did. Turns out we had a lot in common. I make up songs and my NT sister does as well. I make up my own words too. Not words to songs (though I do that do that quite seriously) but I make up words and put my own meaning to them. And I give possibly everybody I meet a nickname. My two cats easily have 476 nicknames between them.

Where Bruce takes control of Evan's teletext machine, and made him say all sorts of gibberish my brother laughed and said "Casey, did you write this movie"?

During a party one time, a friend commented that your brother Casey is pretty smart actually, then I happened to do the Manic Aspie thing and just scream out (overlapping ADHD and other wackyiness), "Oh f**k my pants are on fire. My pants are on fire help me help me". or something. Then Monty said "eewwwww except when he's like this".

There are so many veneculars that only I use. " Warp 15, refers to" me getting party nude.

The Dance of Shame refers me to dancing naked when my favorite team loses. (haven't been done in a long time).

I usually express some variation to Goo-goo goo-, similar to Quagmire's Giggity Giggity.... insomuch I wrote "Lady Gaga= Ga ga ga. Kesha=Blah blah blah" and my friend wrote "Casey=Goo goo goo".

I often respond to players' remonstrations and protests, as they respond to me backstabbing them, with non squiturs.

And I invented a cat language. Where one adds an "M" infront of every first letter.... mor minstance, mi may mam ma mcat. (after listening to "Cat saying hello" (a youtube video). I was treated to an actual demonstration of how this language might work.

Oh, I do this all of the time. I love the way certain words sound. A few examples would be:
Zooom! Vrooom! Dooot! Wheeee!

I love gibberish and animal noises. I also like misappropriating words, too. For example, the word "shiny" is now synonymous with anything new, interesting, or generally likable. It can also refer to pretty things.

As for nicknames, yup... every pet I come into contact with on a regular basis has a whole slew of nicknames.

I enjoy making up silly songs, usually as mondegreens to songs sung in a foreign language which I can't understand.

I actually have a knack for hearing songs on the radio and coming up with what is usaully a comical version of the song. A lot of the time those songs are about food. My girlfriend generally thinks it is funny but it can be sometimes annoying especially when the song I come up with is not that good. My head just works strangely.
