I love cats. They#re my favourite animals. My best friend (feline) of almost 14 years had to be put to sleep last year. She was so awesome, I really loved her. We have a kitten now called Jess, she's totally different but also awesome
I just think cats are great. The obvious reason is that they LOOK so f****n gorgeous. The cutest things in the world. I can't resist kissing Jess on the face, much to her annoyance

lol, unfortunately a dog is arriving first
my little sister is going back overseas to live i england for a while (maybe for good), so im adopting her maltese, who incidentally was great friends with the cat in my story when he was little. so at least i know he has some cat patience!

That's great news, what's the dog's name? My last dog was a Lab, Isabel and she loved Winchester and he loved her too. It was amazing to watch them play with each other. She was always so gentle with him. She was the best dog I have ever had.

The dogs name is Basil :)
He will just have to deal with Layla (after my favourite Clapton song of all time), which is what im naming my cat when it gets here.

My previous cats name was Yasmin, quite often Basil would beat her to my lap, which didnt last long because Yas would lie down just to the side of Basial and ever so slowly push with both front and back legs until she pushed him off my lap, and then she would quickly take his spot. She did it so gradually and sneakily that i believe to this day he though he had moved himself.

obsessed, yes. i have six (in a small apartment). i've been to cat shows and used to want to breed them until i realized the non-neutered males spray and have to be kept outdoors, and sometimes there are things i would find impossible to deal with (birth defects, etc) ..

i love them. a lot of it is a sensory thing. they smell good, the fur feels nice, purring is the best sound in the world, it calms me when they pile up on top of me. but also i relate to their curiosity and random spazziness and the way they give in to every urge to nap in sunbeams. they're my best friends. i don't know how to explain any better. i don't dislike dogs (like i used to) but some of them smell terrible and they need too much attention generally. the dog breeds i like are the mellow almost catlike ones who sit around like living sculptures and don't bark (saw a miniature Borzoi some time ago .. lovely) .. hate dogs barking. hate it hate it.

i've noticed this too but i couldn't tell you why. eye contact with cats feels like an intense trust bond to me but a threat with people.

Why should you resist? The world needs more cat pictures. Those cats (your cats?) are beautiful.

Neighbour's Cats. The first is current, the others from my previous flat in Tauranga.

I seem to be popular with neighbouring cats. I don't chase them outside, I am affectionate, I offer food and water occasionally, and I let them sleep on the bed/chair.

In sasquatch's case, I also clean his tear ducts (Exotic-Persians often have that problem) so he can see better.

I love cats :). I have an amazing cat called Charlie who turned up on our doorstop when I was 9 and still lives with us 15 years later...the vet think he's about 21. He's my closest friend :) and he's about the friendliest cat I've met. He's an orange tabby, really sweet.

That's cool that you've been to cat shows! Have you ever won?

I'm the same way. One of the things I love most about my cat is the way her fur feels and smells. I like to hold her close to my face. I just love their random spazziness. One of my teachers used to say that cats are psycho because they hear voices inside their heads and they obey them.

I do make eye contact with her, but I thought that was just because she has such beautiful eyes.

cats know you're a cat person

i was at the vets yesterday with my mum to get some worm tablets for our dogs.
when we entered my mum went first, i went in second. in the far corner of the vets they have a cage for "moggie of the month", which is always a cat from the local animal shelter. well the moggie completely ignored my mum, but the very second i put my foot in the door it meowed and started walkign around in circles as they do.

it took everything i had to not walk out of the vets with it, but i cant get a cat until i finish building my place, which is about a month or two away.

Not obsessed with them. They are cute, they are easier to care for. You don't need to walk the or bath them or give them a groom.

We first started watching our neighbor's cat when I was nine and she was a Calico. Then she took off and never came back. Then when I was ten, I got my very first cat and she was a Calico. She lived until she was 13. I loved holding her and feeling her fur and I used to play with her. Then I didn't pay that much attention to her because I lost interest and then I held her again and spent time with her. I used to have a towel over me because she shed like crazy. Then I kept her outside all the time because she wouldn't use her litter box and I kept it clean.

Love cats - we had more cats, most of them Siamese, than people in my house when I was a kid. One of them stuck with us through two moves and lived a good long cat life of fifteen years. We got him as a little ball of fluff who hid under my dresser all day, despite all efforts, and looked set on breaking my 10-year-old-heart. Sometime during the night, he decided I wasn't a threat after all, and I woke up to find him curled up in the crook of my shoulder.

I haven't had a cat in a while, though - about to get one, but as much because we have mice than for any sentimental reason. Litter boxes and shedding and clawing furniture are just annoying.

That's a great video, very creative and playful. You look especially beautiful with kitty ears, whiskers and nose and you wear them like you have always had them. You would make an excellent cat-woman. :cat:

I LOVE them!! ! They're so cute, and they're soft and quiet. I like that they almost always do their business in the same place, and they're okay with you not always wanting to give them so much attention. It's cute when they purr. You can tell that they like you and are happy. Most cats don't invade your personal space if you don't want them too. Some of them have such a sweet adorable voice. And they aren't too fast like dogs or ferrets can be.

I really like your video hale_bopp and I hope you get a cat soon.

I love my Luna and I miss seeing him more than I do anyone else in my family. I hope if I get an apartment I could have him with me again. I would give him hugs and kisses every day. When I was 7 on vacation with my aunt and uncle in Florida, when I wrote my mom a letter I also wanted to write one to Whispurr, our old cat. When I was little I always wanted to pet her and when I annoyed her she would bat my ears and I would feel all shocked

This is my cat Luna. He'll be 11 in May.
