I seem to remember Tony Attwood mentioning in his book that he has come across several people with AS who are great at acting. I'm just not sure about this idea "actors and dramatists are 'aspies' at heart ".
I'm slightly confused by the notion that Spielberg has a diagnosis of AS.

When I was at Uni, I loved acting ! ! Was in Richard III, as several walk-on type parts. It's the old thing about being more comfortable wearing a mask, than being yourself.

I think aspies are also drawn to it for the structure.

Unlike spontanious conversations with others, on the stage you know exactly what to say, when and how to say it, what the other person will say and which facial expressions and gestures are expected at each precise moment.

Why do you think so? I've seen him on interviews and I'm pretty sure he doesn't. Is it because of his Neo character?

just the way he acts in general. he doesn't seem to convey to much emotion sometimes when he's acting. either that or he's not a good actor.

One of the reasons I questioned my AS DX is that I won awards in Drama for "interpretive reading".That requires vocal and facial expression. My social phobia was so great that I would dissociate
when reading but it was something my parents thought I should do.It was actually one of the few things I did well(evidently)but I have no memory of "what" I was doing.I think when I was hanging out with the Punks...there was a lot of acting on my part.I was never as tough as I could pretend when I was drinking.

Aspies Actors....Woody Allen?David Carradin<---Kung Fu?Dustin Hoffman?(maybe I just wish they were aspie because I used to have crushes on them as a girl?)

I have heard someone propose that Orson Wells was AS. Although I don't know much about Orson as a person to either agree or disagree.
