| for me, this happened not too long ago. it was just an all of a sudden. it was an online friend who I used to talk to many times with. today, he just calls me a ignorant, pathetic coward. but i'm maturing from this and staying away from him... so, have you ever been through things like this? In real life or online? |

No.
I'm not friends with all of my "what-I-thought-were-best-friends", but they're not enemies. _________________ Books are a delicacy in Canada. |

Yes, but in all fairness, I never know who is really my friend or not. I will think that someone is my best friend only to find out later that the person was merely using me. And then when they toss me aside like a broken toy, I'm in shock. But yes, that has happened to me. The most upsetting occasion (because I had not yet gotten used to the scenerio) was in 5th or 6th grade. Someone told my best friend (I guess) that I had made up an awful lie about her. After that she avoided me for days, wouldn't talk to me, would glare at me angrily, walk away when I came near. I was confused, had no idea why she was angry. So, I wrote it off as "She must be upset about something. I'll ask her mom.". I called frequently enough that her parents recognized her number. It had gotten to the point that they would answer, greet me cheerfully, and yell for her to pick up the phone. That day, her mother answered in the coldest voice that I had ever heard at that point in my life. While I am rubbish with facial expression, I have always been pretty adept at noticing tone of voice. I asked her what was wrong; why she was so angry. She replied that I knew good and well why she was angry. Then she told me what my friend told her that her friend said I said about her. It was...pretty damn awful. I won't even bother repeating it, but I will say that it was something that I would have never THOUGHT to say anything close to what I was being accused of because I was so far behind socially. After that she told me that my friend did not want to talk to me and that I was to stop bothering her at school and never call their house again. And then she hung up. I cried on and off for days. _________________ I think I know. I don't think I know. I don't think I think I know. I don't think I think. |

Kind of, I have a close friend who in 2008 I hated like crazy. I don't any more, I do like seeing her but only in small doses.
We've known each other for 9 years, so that one year I went off her doesn't make much of a difference, _________________ The butterfly, the tiger, just another shadow in the stone

Yup, my best freind from primary school turned against me for seemingly no reason, and then proceeded to completely ruin my life thinking back now I think it was because I bought an xbox 360 on the release date and he had absolutely no money because he bought useless crap and was annoyed at me because I could accually save money. _________________ "Moshing, slam dancing, crowd surfing, and stage diving these things are a unique part of our scene; the ways some of us express ourselves, shed our cares for an hour or two, and enjoy this music that makes us feel so alive." - Randall D. | Close to every friend I had. I'm not sure why but they all just stopped talking to me. I think it might have been because of this nasty rumor someone started about me. Which is not to be repeated to just anyone because it's an awful one. |

This is something I absolutely hate:
You have a private joke between the two of you. Something funny, like a slightly annoying characteristic of yourself or the other person, or a certain word which provokes, you know, goodwill and laughter etc. Then in conflict one day, they snub you if you try to do this private joke. They act like it never existed or whatever. Or, for example if the joke is that you're always late, when they say "well, I can't trust you because you're late, you always go on about it so it must be true" in complete earnest...I just don't understand why people do
this. It's almost dishonourable, and just plain unpleasant.
Well, this thread has been introduced to a slight tangent but if I had a good friend who started behaving like that, my estimation of them would shoot down. |

Not a best friend and not a particular enemy....but it is over....I guess?
There was this person in my math and religion class, she helped me through one of my breakdowns (1 of 2 this year, and it was for a good reason, they withheld my only true passion:art, and are bringing it back next year).
I thought she was cool, and though I didn't really consider her a friend(I'm really cautious about those things), I thought her a good person.
Then she started avoiding me: she moved away from me in math, and even in the new seating arrangement, she moved away.
Of course I didn't pay attention, because I am not petty, but this was WAY after that breakdown had happened (a few months) so I didn't get why she hated me (proving that some people can be mad at you without even trying).
Anyways, there is a happy ending, she started being my friend again (I think, she asked for help with the homework), but I know what you are talking about. |

It was my childhood acquaintance who I thought was a close friend.
Turns out I had been too weird and over-friendly with his other friend.
They were saying stuff about me in front of me.
I mean if you're going to talk behind my back, at least wait till my back is turned. _________________ "I watched a change in you, It's like you never had wings, now you feel so alive" |

Yes, in elementary school and for the most of my seven years there. I was too naive and gulliable when she "apologized" to see that she was emotionally abusive to me.
Mostly every other person I let come too close to me betrayed me in one way or another too. |

My childhood friend who used to live like in the same building I did (it was a condominium).
I hate him, and I THINK he hates me, too.
We don't talk, and if he does, I ignore him.
If I HAVE to talk, he makes fun of me. _________________ "I watched a change in you, It's like you never had wings, now you feel so alive" |

| I happened to me before, with my friend who has the same first name as mine. It was because of the people I was hangning out with last year. Since then, I got rid of those "friends" and our friendship is better than ever!! |
