Report it to the FBI or Homeland Security, I think it arguably falls under cyber terrorism.

when I was in my Hotmail account trying to get stuff sorted out, this character kept IMing a friend of mine as me proclaiming himself "the haxor".

Wouldn't this mean that I win by default? I mean, seriously, out of all of the Strident Atheists, while I am not a jerk, I probably have the least shame.

I'm not an athiest, but I go out to smoke in my underwear. At least I did until little kids moved in next door, and one took a pic with a camera phone.

Two good reasons for me to wear clothing.

I don't know, evidence seems very weak, at least too weak for such a public accusation. I'd say remove it and contact moderators privately about it, including maybe screens or logs of the "hacker" IMing to your friend.

To avoid people messing up in your email accounts. Try pass phrases: http://www.baekdal.com/tips/password-security-usability . Also ditch stupid things like "security questions" those things are BS. If a site forces you to have a security question, make a completely random answer that not even you will ever, remember. Like "What is your mother's maiden name?" Answer: "|@~@#~23"·!"!"·"$%"! !"·$
