As the radio show 'Route Du Soleil' has started airing again this summer on Radio 2 (an annually recurring radio show that's part humouristic, part informative, and revolves around a fictional journey across Europe, taking a different route every year), I am being exposed to some foreign pop music once more. Two of the songs I heard in the most recent episode have struck a chord with me, and both are French (as the Route led through France in that particular broadcast).

"Vagabonde" by Kenza Farah (audio quality not very good, nor is it an actual video).

"Dans Tous Mes États" by Lorenz.

When I listened to the Route 2 years ago, I didn't follow up on my liking of German language artists Annette Louisan and Max Mohnke. I may want to reconsider in the case of these two. Especially since it might help increase my interest in French. As my focus when it comes to pop music has shifted to the Far East (from Japan to Vietnam to Indonesia), I was wholly unaware of what was going on in the rest of the EU outside of the Neth (and the UK) until today.

I may get a lot of ish for this but I am still a fan of yelle, despite her various beef's with other french rappers, and despite her lame videos. I also still enjoy the techtonik remix of her video (I haven't fully mastered the art of the tecktonik dance but hope to do so soon)

Yelle - A Cause Des Garcons (TEPR Remix).

I still love this song, but I'm a softy for any of the original tunes that first struck up my interest in dance music.

Alizée - L'Alizé

This tune Shyne sampled for use in his rap song, Bonnie and Shyne feat. Barrington Levy ('ll post the rap video after the original). Not as great as the original, and they could have gone further and sampled more from the original like when that little piano rift comes in towards the middle of the track.
Grace Jones - La Vie En Rose

And this tune sort of reminded me of a top40 song that jewel sung back in the early 2000's. Very relaxing tune. The second one is also another relaxing french song off of a putumayo cd I had, and the last one is off of Pink Martini's album. Enjoy
Peut-être Pas ʃ Mélanie Pain ♪

Karpatt - Dites moi tu

Pink Martini - Sympathique

Thanks very much for the videos, Market&Church! I'm actually now running through the singles discographies of the artists you posted, starting with Yelle (playing 'Je Veux Te Voir' as I'm typing this). Sounds wicked.
