Annie by Our Lady Peace is a definite shoe-in here.

You're a little bit shy
A little too quiet
You're the mixed up girl
That everybody leaves behind
A little bit weird
A little too bright
But you just might be
That little bomb at their side
They'll pull your hair
They'll leave you wide-eyed
But did anybody wonder
What annie might have in mind
Oh, no

I can relate to the ideas, and it screams aspie to me. An additional note; the former guitarist and one of the founding members of Our Lady Peace was called Mike Turner, which is my name. Only found it out after getting an album (which is hard when you live in England)

Also, here's another; All In Your Head by Machine Head

You tell me, i've been walking on a railing
Been excelling at failing
That i think wrong, i don't belong
I don't fit, i don't give a s**t
Take my guitar and microphone, pour out my f****n' soul
Insecurity, i'll strip it down to the bone - f**k it
I ain't a stranger, just strange
I'll be fine so leave me alone

You can't see the things that make
Your happiness go away, well i can

It's all in your head
It's in your head
Sad but it's true
It's inside you
Keep wallowing in your misery
It's all in your head

I know that i'm a weirdo and i'm messed up
And the lord knows that i've f****d up
But i don't need you to point out
Every mistake that i make
I'm sick of all your negatives, something has gotta give
Got me thinking you need to stop overthinking
Brink of losing my mind and going blind
I'll be fine, leave me alone

city noise ~ scarling

Another crowded dance floor
Another empty glass
Another failed hello
It's your alibi, another splendid lie
It's the bruises that you can't show

It's another lonely sunset
Another starless sky
The nervousness inside
It's the final kiss from a lover's fist
It's the reason why you can't cry

It's a violent reaction
The mixtape in your heart
The answer you should know
How we complicate, a simple mistake
It's the face you make when I go

And we tried to change
The city noise made us strange
So we plugged our ears and learned to fight
We set the stage, but we could not engage
so we cut all ties by candlelight

Another deep depression
The calm before the storm
The shaking in your head
How you sacrificed - how you paid the price
All the words you wish you had said

It's the rawest of emotions
Drinking to forget - names written in the snow
It's the anxious feel - purging your last meal
It's the secret that you can't know

And we tried to change
The city noise made us strange
So we plugged our ears and learned to fight
We set the stage, but we could not engage
so we cut all ties by candlelight

AWESOME thread! Here are a 2 songs that I'm sure haven't already been posted:

# 1 Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone

Do you think youre better off alone?
Do you think youre better off alone?
Do you think youre better off alone?
Do you think youre better off alone?

Talk to me...ohhh, talk to me
Talk to me...ohhh, talk to me

Do you think youre better off alone?
Do you think youre better off alone?

Do you think youre better off alone?
Do you think youre better off alone?
Do you think youre better off alone?
Do you think youre better off alone?

Talk to me...ohhh, talk to me
Talk to me...ohhh, talk to me
Talk to me

===================================

#2 Eric Carmen - All By Myself

When I was young
I never needed anyone
And makin love was just for fun
Those days are gone

Livin alone
I think of all the friends Ive known
But when I dial the telephone
Nobodys home

All by myself
Dont wanna be
All by myself anymore
All by myself
Dont wanna live
All by myself anymore

Hard to be sure
Some times I feel so insecure
And love so distant and obscure
Remains the cure

All by myself
Dont wanna be
All by myself anymore
All by myself
Dont wanna live
All by myself anymore

"The Wolf In You" - Chama C Fox:
Alone in a world meant for others
You stand, forsaken by God.
You howl but nobody bothers.
They smile and distantly nod.

For it's true, inside you're not like them,
Not happy with playing your role
And though you wish truth would strike them
You hide from them heart and soul.

Who could you ask when they lack understanding?
Who could you tell that you're not of their kind?
More than just human shape, not only hairless ape.
What could they find inside your mind?

What should you do when others turn against you?
What to believe when all they know is hate?
Could your belief be true? Is there a wolf in you?
What is your fate at heaven's gate?

"A Token Of My Extreme" - Frank Zappa
Don't you be tarot-fied
It's just a token
Of my extreme
Don't you be tarot-fied
It's just a token
Of my extreme

Don't you never try to
Look behind my eyes
You don't wanna know
What they have seen
Don't you never try to
Look behind my eyes
You don't wanna know
What they have seen

Joe: (thinking to himself)
Some people think
That if they go too far
They'll never get back
To where the rest of
Them are
I might be crazy
But there's one thing
I know
You might be surprised
At what you find
When ya go!

Both have Aspieness just eminating from them......

Every single eels song. More notably:

"Things the Grandchildren Should Know"
I go to bed real early
Everybody thinks it's strange
I get up early in the morning
No matter how disappointed i was
With the day before
It feels new

I don't leave the house much
I don't like being around people
Makes me nervous and weird
I don't like going to shows either
It's better for me to stay home
Some might think it means i hate people
But that's not quite right

I do some stupid things
But my heart's in the right place
And this i know

I got a dog
I take him for a walk
And all the people like to say hello
I'm used to staring down at the sidewalk cracks
I'm learning how to say hello
Without too much trouble

I'm turning out just like my father
Though i swore i never would
Now i can say that i have a love for him
I never really understood
What it must have been like for him
Living inside his head

I feel like he's here with me now
Even though he's dead

It's not all good and it's not all bad
Don't believe everything you read
I'm the only one who knows what it's like
So i thought i'd better tell you
Before i leave

So in the end i'd like to say
That i'm a very thankful man
I tried to make the most of my situations
And enjoy what i had
I knew true love and i knew passion
And the difference between the two
And i had some regrets
But if i had to do it all again
Well, it's something i'd like to do

or

"Flower"

turn the ugly light off god
wanna feel the night
everyday it shines down on me
don't you think that i see
don't you think that i see what it's all about

hard to look the other way
while the world passes me by
and everyone is trying to bum me out

it's a pretty big world god
and i am awful small
everyday they rain down on me
flower in a hailstorm
flower in a hailstorm
i'm living for the drought
i could throw it back at them
but then i play their game
everyone is trying to bum me out

when i came into this world they slapped me
and everyday since then i'm slapped again
tomorrow's king: an unsightly coward
you see, I know i'm gonna win

turn the ugly light off god
don't wanna see my face
everyday it will betray me
don't you think that i know
don't you think that i know what they're talking about
if they step on me tonight
they're gonna pay someday
everyone is trying to bum me out

seriously, check out this band.

Huh, dunno if anyone already submitted Weezer's "In the Garage", but that...definitely says something. At least for me it does. I think I need to download all these songs and put 'em on my 'pod.

Anything by Weezer, pretty much.

Yeah. Smile

One of my favorite Rush songs, one we can relate to, and which pretty much sums up the "normal life" of NT's and how we are... Oh, just read the @#$%^&* lyrics...

"Subdivisions" - Rush
(Courtesy of azlyrics.com)

Sprawling on the fringes of the city
In geometric order
An insulated border
In between the bright lights
And the far unlit unknown

Growing up it all seems so one-sided
Opinions all provided
The future pre-decided
Detached and subdivided
In the mass production zone
Nowhere is the dreamer or the misfit so alone

[Chorus:]
(Subdivisions)
In the high school halls
In the shopping malls
Conform or be cast out
(Subdivisions)
In the basement bars
In the backs of cars
Be cool or be cast out
Any escape might help to smooth the unattractive truth
But the suburbs have no charms to soothe the restless dreams of youth

Drawn like moths we drift into the city
The timeless old attraction
Cruising for the action
Lit up like a firefly
Just to feel the living night

Some will sell their dreams for small desires
Or lose the race to rats
Get caught in ticking traps
And start to dream of somewhere
To relax their restless flight
Somewhere out of a memory of lighted streets on quiet nights...

[Chorus]

Lying From You by Linkin Park is always a song I think most aspies can relate too, especcially in dealing with parents and friends and stuff like that...

When I pretend everything is what I want it to be
I look exactly like what you always wanted to see
When I pretend, I can’t forget about the criminal I am
Stealing second after second just cause I know I can but
I can’t pretend this is the way it’ll stay I’m just
(Lying to bend the truth)
I can’t pretend I’m who you want me to be, so I’m

(Lying my way from you)
No no turning back now
(I wanna be pushed aside so let me go)
No no turning back now
(Let me take back my life I’d rather be all alone)
No turning back now
(Anywhere on my own cuz I can see)
No no turning back now
(The very worst part of you is me)

I remember what they taught to me
Remember condescending talk for who I ought to be
Remember listening to all of that and this again
So I pretended up a person who was fittin’ in
And now you think this person really is me and I’m
(Trying to bend the truth)
Cuz the more I push the more I’m pulling away cuz I’m

(Lying my way from you)
No no turning back now
(I wanna be pushed aside so let me go)
No no turning back now
(Let me take back my life I’d rather be all alone)
No turning back now
(Anywhere on my own cuz I can see)
No no turning back now
(The very worst part of you)
(The very worst part of you is ME)

This isn’t what I wanted to be,
I never thought that what I said would have you running from me
Like This
This isn’t what I wanted to be,
I never thought that what I said would have you running from me
Like This
This isn’t what I wanted to be,
I never thought that what I said wouldhave you running from me
Like This
This isn’t what I wanted to be,
I never thought that what I said would have you running from me
Like This

(You)
No turning back now
(I wanna be pushed aside so let me go)
No no turning back now
(Let me take back my life I’d rather be all alone)
No turning back now
(Anywhere on my own cuz I can see)
No no turning back now
(The very worst part of you)
(The very worst part of you is me)

At least that second verse anyway speaks to me (most of the rest of the song too, about wanting to be weird and myself again), what about any of you?

What about the song that has the lyrics "I Walk Alone, I Walk Alone"? I think it's called "My Shadow" or something similar to that.
