I'm very tomboy-ish. I don't wear make up and never will, can't stand shopping, never had dolls, and wear comfortable clothes (mainly trousers and t-shirts). I rarely wear dresses and can't stand anything flowery/frilly.
As a kid I used to play with toy cars, and I've always liked watching and playing sport. |

I'm a tom boy through and through. Always have been, always will be. I was the kid who played with ninja turtle action figures instead of dolls. Computers (built mine last year), basketball, expanding my knowledge, video games, and art are my hobbies. A lot of people think I'm gay because of my male mannerisms and the fact I dress in men's clothes (more logical and comfortable, plus they look cooler and fit my personality) but I honestly don't give a damn what others think. My brain is male while my body is female, but I wouldn't change it for anything.
I'm also more suited in the provider/protector role with the people I care about. Especially my best friend. Just comes more natural to me.
Never been interested in the so called girl stuff, and I also think it's crap how much society tries to dictate how a woman should act and what she should be into based on the fact they were born with an innie instead of an outie.
I took one of those "What gender is your brain?" quizzes and the results said my brain was definitely male. |

| My guy friend once said "You're a tom-boy without trying to be one." I think I know what he means, I look like a girl but I don't act girly or do girly things. |

maybe some what. I do like girly things but not to the extreme. I mostly wear sweatpants. Jeans recently have started to bother me. I need like soft materials against my skin I guess. I don't really LIKE to get dressed up but I do when I have to. My favorite color is purple and I love girly cartoons and anime. I guess I am girly, sort of. I don't really do anything with my hair. I just wash it and let it go natural. I don't wear a lot of make up. I guess I am pretty neutral.  |

Yes, I would definitely 100% describe me as being a 'tom-boy'...and I have been throughout my entire childhood; I sport since I was 5- Basketball aged 5, Judo age 5 until aged 7, Football (soccer) from age 6 up until aged 14, Tag Rugby age 8, Skateboarding until the present.
...plus, I used to play with Action Man dolls, while all the other girls would play with barbie dolls...
...during free time in primary school, I would build things with Lego bricks and Kinex etc.
...all but two of my close primary friends were boys; one of my girlie friends was also a tom-boy.
I also (still do) play video games all the time; Grand Theft Auto, Fifa, Pro Evolution Soccer, Fight Night and the EA Skate games seem to be my favorite...PLUS, LA Noire. |

On the outside I'm very girly. I dress girly, I act girly (my gait, posture, etc.). But I hate talking about "girly" stuff such as clothes, boys, Twilight  ... and in many ways I am pretty much like a guy on the inside. |

| I am very much a tomboy and always have been. Form follows function for me. I wear jeans, hiking boots, and tshirts most of the time. Occasionally I'll put on a shirt that buttons and has a collar. It is very uncomfortable for me to wear feminine clothes. But at the same time, I have a very nurturing personality, almost motherly, but I do not have or want kids. Wearing makeup for me would feel as ridiculous as wearing clown paint in public. Really, there's not much difference to me. If a man painted his face and went out in public he wouldn't expect to be taken seriously, but for women it's ok...defies logic to me, but then people aren't logical. Some women look great in makeup and I wouldn't tell a woman not to wear it if she wanted, I just can't. |

This post reminds me of this song. I have to say, I think if you have a brain and you are a young girl, you can see boys have all the advantages....Do you see any posts for men about when I was a Tom girl? Just saying....you can be female, a woman, very feminine and still grow up a 'tom boy' or being an adult female who doesn't buy into pop culture's definition of what is to be female:

| I'am and always have been a tomboy, and because of that when I sat down and told my mum I think I have AS, the first thing she said to me (before I told her) was, "Are you a lesbian?"- She attributed me being 'butch' to my sexuality, instead of my personality...LOL Anyway...I just laughed at her and told her, "NO", in the middle of me having a crying meldown. |

| Tom boy for sure. If I see a tree I need to climb it. I want a Makita drill set. I do martial arts so I am very muscular and lean and a bit androgynous looking - and I love tank tops. Don't care for make up, prefer being in the bush, no female interest really - but I did do something very funny a few weeks back. I bought some lingerie. I thought I looked positively stupid. My very good friend for the purposes or intelligent conversation and sex, and he has a dog I am very fond of, so when I visit him, I play with the dog most of the time - thought it looked fantastic. Now it hangs in the cupboard and I am back to boxer shorts again. He wants me to wear it again. It is really uncomfortable. @ INTHE DEEPEND INTERESTING. I have no maternal instincts what so ever. It has taken me 10 years to finally have a tubal ligation. I am 34. Nobody wanted to do it. It was only after my Epilepsy diagnosis that they finally took me seriously. |

| I'm half and half with this and most things. Girly enough to not be called a tom boy -- but with tom boy traits, so I don't fit in with females. I get along with females better casually if they are aspie with male/tomboy traits, but some of the aspie traits could be hard if we got to be real friends. |
