Yes, but not around other people. If I'm alone and I get really excited about something it just bubbles up and I do some quick hand-flapping motion.

I'm 15 and when being excited in private, I would stand up, walk/jump around and do some handflaps. I don't do it around other people though.

In private I flap and clap my hands, I smack my hands against my thighs and I squeal or make animal noises (kittens and birds). I rarely flap (or do any of these other things) in public, only when I'm really excited and cannot contain myself.

I'm 19 and do that as well as another type of stim in conjunction. Usually when I'm excited or intrigued by something. Also when stressed out. When shocked or kind of hurt/offended, I sometimes don;t realize it til a little later, but I'll crouch down and make myself really compact. And then I'll just stare at a particular thing while zoning out for a bit. This is like I said more of a hurt kind of offended. An angry offended will just make me do my more rapid stuff

I flapped more than a little after the SAT.

Generally, the behavior has become nothing more than twisting my watch around the hand.

I myself have never had the hand flap but I scratch myself when I'm nervous.

i do it in private when i'm excited or stressed out. standing on my toes happens when i am stressed out in public :S and i have managed to reduce my excessive hand flapping to minute finger flicking when i am stressed in public. at work i often finger flick and over xmas (when i was majorly stressed) i found myself clicking my tongue as well as finger flicking...hand flapping only happens when i am extremely excited.

I'm 17 and I still handflap Smile I try and do it in private because people make fun of me for it and I do it when I get excited or when I'm looking up things about my special interest. And it does feel amazing!

I still hand flap, too. I try not to do it in public so much, but if I get really super excited about something, I end up doing it anyway. There are a few people I can hand flap around and not be made fun of or stared at, and it feels really good to be able to hand flap when I want or need to. Other than hand flapping, I tap my toes or jig my leg or tap my fingers or pens instead of flapping my hands, but if I get too emotional or excited, sometimes I might do several of the above at the same time.

I used to have therapy as a kid where I had this wristband that had weights that taught me to not hand flap, so now I just twitch my fingers.
