Personally mine is Battle Angel Alita/GUNNM and I am very hyped for the movie by James Cameron (but if he makes Natalie Portman play Alita/Gally I will have to make a "buisness trip" to his house> ) _________________ AS: 132

| Only one I've ever actually read is (the Dark horse translation of) AKIRA, and it has a special place in my heart. But with my luck, I searched high and low for each volume only to learn new editions were coming out right after I got the last one. |

With the Light.
it's sad though, the other died before the series could be finished. the 8th book...was half done, but published anyway.
but don't let that stop you from reading it. just go get it and read it! _________________ *Christina*

| Either Gantz or Berserk. Both pretty violent. Good storylines. |

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind: Miyazaki completed it ten or so years after the film was released, so itgoes off in a completely, and IMO more interesting, direction less than halfway through.
Monster: realistic and, suspenseful.
Solanin: heartfelt and true-to-life.
Kare Kano (His and Her Circumstances): still working my way through that one.
Usagi Drop: likewise. Ongoing.
I seem to 1. gravitate towards realism...and 2. I have a habit of not finishing the series before picking up another one! |

Liar Game was awesome. I stopped reading after the first game (?) featuring the third 'genius', the old man. Have they written much further beyond that point yet? |

Battle Angel Alita was great. The anime was OK, a pity it was cancelled after only two episodes.
Didnīt know about the movie. Must see!
Other favourites are Claymore, Urusei Yatsura, Shinryaku! Ika Musume and Azumanga Daioh. |

I used to be pretty obsessed with the Hellsing manga (and its OVA adaptation) a few years ago. I also liked Trinity Blood quite a bit too.
Earlier this year I read a couple of volumes of Petshop of Horrors, and I really liked it. It does a much better job of fleshing out D as a character than the OVAs did. They should have made it into a TV series instead.
I also really enjoy Franken Fran. It reminds me of Hellsing due to the amount of gore/disturbing imagery and philosophical discussions, but it also reminds me of Petshop of Horrors due to the "be careful what you wish for"/twist ending element. I haven't read it in awhile, and I'm really disappointed at the molasses-slow rate that the manga volumes are being published. |

I always kind of liked Naruto, I'll read a chapter every few months or so to see where the story is.
I really like Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, though! _________________ I'm a crab in a lobster world. |
