Raised in a Catholic family, but was always daydreamed during mass/Sunday school because I was never interested. You can say apathetic. When I confirmed my notions I do not care and most likely never would and labeled myself an atheist, it was like I declared war on my parents as if I committed a grievous crime. My mother was the leader of Religious Education at the time, so she had an emotional investment in educating me, which must have been a slap to her face when I declared my honest feelings.
It is hard to move on, but time is slowly healing the wounds. Although their is no animosity between me and my parents, though when religion pops its head in conversations, arguments occasionally occur. I tend to keep to myself and not too many people know my feelings on the subject. |

Atheism is not the lack of religion, Atheism not the lack of religion, atheism is not the lack of religion, ATHEISM IS NOT THE LACK OF RELIGION! Secularism is the lack of religion. There are secular theists and religious atheists. Now what have we learned today? _________________ Cinnamon and sugary

That Atheism is a religion despite the fact it is essentially the denial of religion? :p _________________ A shot gun blast into the face of deceit

ATHEISM IS NOT THE DENIAL OF RELIGION, IT'S NOT BELIEVING IN A GOD; RELIGION IS NOT DIRECTLY TIED TO THE WORD ATHEISM. Denial of religion would be religious skeptism or something. Not practicing a religion is secularism. _________________ Cinnamon and sugary

My Dad's a Mormon, as it so happens. I also have cousins on Mission trips at the moment.
I'm secular, myself. |
What missions are they on? |
Missionary work. One's in DC, the other's somewhere in Europe I think. _________________ KWATZ! |

By denying the existence of any god you essentially deny the basis of most religions.
What is Christianity without god? Islam without allah?
They are nothing. By denying the root of the religion you deny the religion itself. _________________ A shot gun blast into the face of deceit

Atheism is the absence of god belief, and therefore the absence of theistic religion. Positive disbelief in gods is merely one form of atheism (so-called strong atheism). Most atheists are "weak" or agnostic atheists.
Of course a person can be an atheist Buddhist. There are rather theistic schools of Buddhism that believe in higher beings that inhabit the celestial realms, but other forms of Buddhism are technically atheistic. I personally view them more as life philosophies than religions. |

Yes, I'm missing religions like Asatru. Some would list that as Pagan, but when I hear "pagan" I rather think of Celtic Wicca, Neo-Druidism and Celtic Reconstructionist Paganism. I would at least distinguish between Celtic and Norse paganism.
I'm also missing Taoism, Zoroastrianism, Deism, Rastafarianism, Naturalistic Pantheism, New Age Spirituality, Cosmic Humanism, Native American and Inuit Religions, Australian Aboriginal Mythology, Jediism (there really are practicing Jedis out there, as crazy as this sounds), and of course Satanism. It's kind of funny that Satanism is never included in these lists

There are also Anabaptists (Mennonites, Amish and Pentecostal), Apostolic Christians, Unitarians, Quakers, Jehovah's Witnesses... I've read somewhere that there are over 30,000 Christian denominations |

Paganism at it's core is simply an Earth based religion. Pagans worship nature. _________________ Do you bury me when I'm gone?

I am not entirely sure.
I agree most with Buddhism, pantheism, deism and taoism. If I could find a religion that combined all of these beliefs than I would convert.
The abrahamic religion are obsessed with murder, violence and genocide. It is mentioned in their holy books.
An all knowing and all powerful god should never let his people do these thing.
I am very angry at the Catholic church but I can not become a militant atheist. _________________ “During times of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act" ~George Orwell

Atheist.
And at the risk of being pedantic (I am not trying to be; I don't read between the lines very well and you might have already stated what I am saying):

Actually, there are numerous denominations of Satanism. When LeVey started Satanism, it was actually an atheist movement. It was essentially a parody of the Church/Christianity. If there is going to be a distinction between all the Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc on this list, the Satanism list would actually be pretty long as well.
There is also Luciferianism. That I believe has at least 4 distinct branches in it as well. |

I wasn't referring to the number of options you gave, but the number of respondents in each category.
I'd also include most of the Christian denominations you mention above in the Protestant fold. |
