in the past i have had "crushes" of -

- super mario. - a gernaly happy guy
- link from the legend of zelda (still a bit) . - saves the princess zelda, has no verbal speech ( a bit like me, makes me feel more comftable)
- megamind from the movie megamind. - lovable, adorable
- curt smith of the band in the 80's Tears for Fears. - funny, emotinal
- double d (ed ed and eddy cartoon series) . - clever, adorable
- and the most recent one...... spongebob squarepants (from the cartoon series spongebob squarepants) . - innocent, lovable, cute, funny, happy, good looking

is this normal for autistic pepole..?

most of them are persons who are not real. and they somtimes become way more of a "love intrest" than other ones. like spongebob as the current expamle. ,,..which is like a "good looking love intrest"

i guess its because im not good at speaking in gernal... like link from the legend of zelda for example... he is non-verbal... a bit like me

Curt Smith is cute!

I've had crushes on human fictional characters (too embarrassed to say which ones).

I don't think it's any weird.

A lot of non-autistic younger teens have crushes on celebrities with very fictional presentation (stage name, staged appearance) or entirely fictional characters out of video games or from other media.

Hey, even some very normal people who are in a happy relationship with someone also point out that they absolutely love a fictional character from a book, an animated film or an anime and that they like that fictional character because he/she is so sweet/sexy/handsome/awesome.

They even go as far as to defend their fondness of that fictional character and come up with all kinds of reasons as to why he/she is loveable and charming. That sounds mightily like a crush!

I have had various "crushes" on animated characters before. I wonder if it's because it's easier to read the emotions of an animated character? Cartoons aimed at children in particular; they tend to be free of more subtle emotions that autistics can find so confusing.

Silver Surfer.....not sure if I can call it a crush, but it maybe more like how most people would feel about another human than a fictional character? Like more than a superhero. Maybe a bit more real? Something we can strongly identify with or have a fascination with? A character we look up to?

I think this is kinda normal actually, like Sora wrote.

I'll admit it. I used to crush on the character Gadget Hackwrench, from Chip'n'Dale's Rescue Rangers. If she's not an aspie...

She is "a young female mouse and the team's pilot, mechanic and inventor. The daughter of deceased inventor and aviator Geegaw Hackwrench, who was a good friend of Monterey Jack, she first met Chip and Dale when Monty brought them to Geegaw's in search of an airplane. At loose-ends since her father's death and eager to help, she joins the team.[7] Known to say "Golly", whenever she's surprised by something. Gadget moves quickly, thinks quickly, and talks quickly, sometimes leaving the others looking dazed and confused.[5] In addition to building and maintaining the Ranger Plane, Gadget is the one responsible for the various technological items used by the team and is regularly inventing new vehicles and tools for the team's use.[5] She has the uncanny ability to take discarded and unrelated items, and invent nearly anything with them, which she attributes to the fact that she has a "mind-bashingly high IQ" and is easily bored. Unfortunately, her creations don't always work the way she intends and have sometimes failed at just the wrong moment to cause the team trouble. Both Chip and Dale are attracted to Gadget, and often compete for her attention, but she doesn't seem to notice in many cases, and has never demonstrated a preference for either."

I've had crushes on both real people and fictional characters. I sometimes talk to this zoologist from South Africa who studdies meerkats and I had a HUGE crush on him. I think it was becuase he and I had so much in common and not just meerkats. I also remember having a crush on the protagonist of a movie called Titan A.E.; and looking back, I think it's becuase the protoganist looked very simaliar to the zoologist. I also saw a lot of myself in the character's personality.

I am madly (pun intended) in love with Alice Kingsleigh, portrayed by Mia Wasikowska in the 2010 Tim Burton version of Alice in Wonderland. She is one of 6 imaginary friends whom I've had for the past 2 years. I like to imagine that she and I are married and that we have a very loving and fulfilling relationship. I talk to her (and my other imaginary friends) every night while I lie in bed.

In addition to watching the movie she's in, I also express my love for her by drawing pictures of her, collecting Alice in Wonderland-themed items and by reading lesbian historical fiction, which helps me to imagine what our lives together would be like if I lived in her time period.

Meerkat is spelled with a K, not a C.
