No "named" group. My school doesn't seems to have those. The cliques tend to be based on popularity, gender, age, race and ability.

Ever since high school started, not really anyone to be honest. At lunch, I'm with these three girls back from my middle school, but all I do is sit and daydream, so I'm not even socializing at all. Laughing

Back in middle school, it's rather difficult to explain the type of people I hung out with. There were jocks, preps, skaters, band geeks, and a whole lot of nerds. Well, basically everyone was a nerd in the group, but there were jock/nerd, prep/nerd, and so on. Most of the guys in the group were jock/nerds though. I would also say I hung out with the Asians, but we had several other races mixed in too.

To people outside of the group, they consider us the "popular" group; it's ironic in a way. Socializing isn't exactly my forte, but everyone in the group was different and some friends were the others' exact opposite, so I didn't really have to worry about that.

In high school, I lost almost everyone of those friends, so I lost motivation to socialize. I'm content spending my free time daydreaming, as long as those three friends are around me. Without them, I can feel peoples' gazes on me and get really anxious and paranoid. Sad

My school just has the rednecks, "normal Southerners" (not sure what else to call the nice and well-meaning, but sheltered and far too "normal" kids), goofballs, and gangstas, with a very small goth and skater population. We don't have any nerds and the jocks get lumped into other groups. We do have some other loners like me, but none of us have the guts to talk to any one else and there's no guarantee that we even like the same stuff. I generally only hang out with my one real friend (who just happens to be from out-of-state as well). A lot of the goofballs try to talk to me so I have become friends with them, but they are far too immature and we don't share any common interests. The "normal Southerners" often talk to me, but as we have absolutely nothing in common, I'm either trying to explain my interests or they're asking for a "high-five", I guess to make me feel more welcomed. I grew up just south of Miami, as well as in Germany and Kansas, so I really don't fit in around rural Mississippi. I used to have another friend, but he moved onto the gangstas for some reason and I made another friend at the end of last year, but he was a senior and has since graduated.

I have a group of about four females I get together with outside of school every so often. None of us are in a clique of any sort. One of my friends has Asperger's; the others are exceedingly NT. I don't consider these girls my friends really; I'm not emotionally close to them; we just have fun together.

In past years, I hung out with 'the freaks' at school: Some aspie boys, a boy with distorted eyes and vision b/c of a birth defect, a very effeminate Indian, an awkward NT with a hunting/fishing/military fixation, an awkward guy fresh from Poland... the list goes on. I always get along better with males, I guess.

I have made 0 friends since I moved in the last year, so no one.

At my old school, I hung out with nerd-ISH people.

In middle school, it was hipster chicksa and a black nerd here and there.

Nerds that know what they like and don't fake who they are just to fit in. Many of them are also into metal.

In my elementary and middle school years I would hang out with the people who didn't really put themselves out there. It was mostly nerds, I still know some of them as they are just cool people to talk too outside of their interests (one of them I found out was an aspie earlier this year actually). We were never popular, nor did we care about it. We all just enjoyed being around each other and would welcome company.
Now that I'm at a REALLY small school I generally try to be around whatever people I tend to be around at the time because everyone knows each other and gets along.

This is me. My friend will invite me to sit with her and her friends and the next time I'll probably just be like "thanks, but no thanks. Those are your friends."

I just hang with the people that make me feel comfortable. I guess that actually makes me part of the "outcast" group. Even though I like my friends and all, most of the time I feel like a third wheel. I ususally end up reading a book or something when I'm with them.

My school is a super academic private school that's about 2/3 Asian. I usually hang out with the less popular, socially awkward kids, since I'm one of them, after all. They're mostly what I'd call "fandom" nerds, as the more "academic" nerds (i.e. overachievers) are usually more popular and/or just don't hang out with us due to lack of common interests. I had a hard time making friends at that school at first though, as throughout my entire first year there, I spent my lunches reading books in the library xD. I don't feel particularly emotionally close to anyone at my school, with the exception of this one girl. She's really outgoing, so even though we're best friends, there are times when we don't hang out much, as she often associates with more popular people. Even though she's pretty "NT", we still understand each other pretty well, and she sometimes considers my (over)analyzing of other peoples behaviours to be a strength.

There's a group of about 5 or 6 kids who play magic the gathering and are gamers at my school--I guess you'd call them "nerds". I hang out and play with them, but I don't really feel close to any of them. I guess "geeks" would be a better term, actually, because none of them are obsessed with science like I am, though they're mostly honors kids. No one in my school bothers caring about science Crying or Very sad .

I mostly hang around with other Aspies and people who don't fit in. I don't socialise much, though.

I "hang" with no-one; I usually just sit by myself with my headphones in my ears, reading from my kindle or a magazine.
