In my opinion, a lot of horror films I've seen have been unenjoyable. But I like the odd one.

I would not call it a fixation, but I have an strange relationship with horror movies.

I have an odd trait of really likeing the lore in horror, but getting pretty easilly scared, mostly when something just jumps out all of a sudden. I also have it with games as well.

Have you played "Amnesia: The Dark Descent" on PC?

If not, you really, really should.

The worst horror movies are the ones that rely on lazy jump scares. Any as*hole can scare you by running up behind you and yelling "Boo!" The best movies are the ones that slowly build an atmosphere of tension and dread. You won't find many jump scares in The Shining, The Thing, or Alien.

I watched a lets play of it, I also watched a lets of call of Cthulu, I like watching other people play horror games, it lets me imerse myself in the world without the fear of having to do the actions.

I was thinking a little about my favourite horror movies (style), it would be when they are not reliant on jump scares or gore. A couple of the ones that particular are a few asian films. Damn I just changed to a chanel that plays those sort of foreign movies it almost finished with one of the good ones.

When I watch movies on netflix, I watch many horror movies and thrillers. Those genres are what I watch most. I do watch other kinds sometimes. I also like to watch movies with something creative about them(Black Swan for example)

Zombies, Ghosts, Demons, Aliens, Mutants (as long as they're terrifying) usually need to be in a horror movie for me to like it. I've seen a few without any on this list that were good, but I love these types of movies over movies about people going insane and killing other people.

I like ghost horror movies. The psychological nature of ghosts gets really, really creepy. More than just a horribly mutilated corpse. I can't even play fatal frame, because the cutscenes freak me the hell out. The original Thai version of Shutter was good and creepy. The american remake, don't watch it. The Red Shoes, The Victim. The Victim gets props for being nonstandard in its pacing and plot. Extra creepy at the first reveal moment. The Red Shoes was confusing, but good. The Woman in Black (2012 version) looks good. Check out the trailer.

I finally saw Paranormal Activity 3. It was good, but it just wasn't nearly as subtle as the other ones, so it kinda disappointed me a bit. I hope they stop there.

I have not seen really any horror movies beyond "The Walking Dead" and the low-budget(yet well done) Call of Cthulhu movie that was directed by some guy called Andrew Leman, or the reader on the H.P Lovecraft Literary Podcast(yes, I listened to that.)

I've seen hundreds of horror movies (because I love everything horror), but I haven't seen very many horror tv shows. Does anyone have any suggestion for horror-based shows? Not that I have the time to watch a lot of tv. I watch The Walking Dead, but that's about it.

Fringe, though more sci/fi, does have horrific elements, with ghastly dessicated bodies!

The old Xfiles also had had quite a lot of horror in it.

Being Human, currently in its American and Canadian incarnation on Sy/Fy is great horror.

Lost Girl, also on Sy/Fy (right after Being Human, in fact) is also decent enough horror.

American Horror Story, while having finished its first season, will be back this year on FX. This is a very good bit of TV macabre.

I'm sure there are probably others, so I'll depend on our other WP brethren to name them.

I've been watching The X-Files on netflix whenever I get a chance for like the past year. I started watching the American version of Being Human when it first started, I don't remember why I stopped watching it.

I'll check out Lost Girl and American Horror Story.

Well, try picking up on Being Human again, is my recommendation from one horror fan to another, as it's great horror TV. Cool
