Rules:
* No vileness ('Elping with rule/law-breaking, encouraging substance abuse, et cetera, but discussions of villains of child-safe movies are acceptable)
* No vulgarity (Forbidden materials, fields related to mating, et cetera, but discussion of breeding (not mating) of animals admitted)
* No violence (Gruesome crimes, gory media, et cetera, but discussion of tools not applied to others are allowed)

As usual, personal attacks are forbidden, and all that needs to be posted is the special interest.

I like kittens too!

The subsequent user wrote:

How nice! I should learn more about kittens.

The next user wrote:

Let us talk about kittens! ...on average...per litter...weeks before...see this picture?

The subsequent user wrote:
Ponies.

How cute! I like how...and...

The goal is to provide others with common interests based on the conjecture that we on the spectrum like to discuss our special interests and may be able to cope more easily after socializing more because of the increase in common special interests.

Those who kill threads by being dirty beyond belief are known from the last social experiment. Please remember that there are children under the age of 10 on this site.

Ok as weird as this may seem, I'm going to admit it. I have several special interests at any given time. But my weirdest one to date is what I think, unusual, but I can tell I am not alone. My latest special interest is...finding a boyfriend. It was actually a conscious choice. Not just any boyfriend that happens to wander my way, but one that actually suits me and my life as well as I suit his. I am glad I have other interests, because as much of a full time job as this may be, once I am seeing someone, I have to put it on hold to see if he is on the same wavelength as I am. Once I see that he is, I will drop this as a goal reached and intensify my other interests while maintaining the relationship.

My other interests are computers, reading, guitar, flight lessons, exercise, cooking, my house and my children (who are not children anymore). I have put my writing on hold in exchange for the bf. My flight lessons are financial and weather based.

The special interests of others.

[Short-term special interest.

Did you recognize something oddly familiar in that term?]

Plants, especially...
Japanese Maples (Acer palmatum) - I have around 70 varieties, mostly growing in pots
Snowdrops (Galanthus) - I have about 60 varieties (one special snowdrop bulb [sadly not mine!] went for £360 on eBay last week!)

Poetry (Usually from the seventeenth century onward, unless I'm in an aberrant mood)
Philosophy (chiefly Nietzsche, but will be broadening the horizon soon)
Psychology (I read most of Freud and Jung in my sixteenth year)
Books and reading in general.
Sciences dealing with the universe (At present I am transfixed with the cosmological work of Stephen Hawking)
Etymology (An enduring love of words. I can feel their texture, and sometimes espy their colour.)
Fishing (My meditative sport)

Those have been my chief interests for the last three years.
I have also an interest in birds (ornithology), but have never been sufficiently committed for it to develop.
