I used to get obsessed with people
Especially of the opposite sex and i would go to the extend of frightening them off
after a while they would cut me out of their life

Then i was obsessed with hobbies like occult, books, drawing etc
but the obsession would last for a while and eventually fade away to oblivion

Whats strange is I found when i started taking anti-depressants my obession with History would fade away and I wasn't reading as much as I did before. Its like my love of learning new things was taken away in favor of the better emotional positives of Zoloft.

I get that when I crack a particularly difficult programming problem. A little while back I worked out a really elegant technique to perform a medial axis transform. The problem had been bugging me for over 5 years when I suddenly had one of those 'of course' moments and had it coded in a couple of days. I was buzzing for days after that one.

Shocked The description of the sensation.. It describes exactly what I feel when I am compiling, reformatting, and curating data (and finishing AP exams after several chocolate bars)! There is also an urge to tell everyone about it, but that is usually weaker than the aversion to speaking.

Maybe my special interests should be weakened, especially if they end up making me into something similar to the archetype of the foolish drug-abuser that I seek to purge from society.

Me too, I also get that if I find information about something I'm interested or when I see the kind of drawings I love (mostly werewolves or photorealistic), I feel pleasure while passing my eyes across the details, like if I were touching or painting it. But I haven't tell anyone because I think they will think it's pervert or something.
