I posted this in the "Adult Section" since it does have some themes catered to be too graphic for under 18's.
Yeah, and it's the first eroge I have played...it's very interesting as it shows you how people with disabilities cope with relationships but some of the writing is inconsistent.
At first I thought of Rin as extremely Autistic, but some things are very off about it. Namely her loss of wording things...not all Aspies are great at wording things...but she was very weird about it, she showed more ADHD elements then Aspergers as she can talk to people easier but says stupid things that make her awkward to talk to...
I think Rin has some form of Autism though, it's just that I think it leans towards ADHD, I would say Hanako in her story is more Autistic. |

Talk about adults only. I just witnessed Hisao and Emi f**k one another. This is also my first eroge, by the way. The game reminds me of 999 (which is another visual novel without the sex stuff). About the inconsistent writing: I just re-worded the sentances until they made sense to me. All in all, the game is very well done, and it's been hard for me to pull myself away from it. |

The inconsistency is because every character's route was written by a different person. The stories have lots of variety because of that, though. They all have a noticeably different style, so people are bound to like some more than the others. |

I've done Rin, Emi, and Hanako's paths. Rin reminded me of myself. It hit a nerve. How she has a hard time explaining things. How she comes up with new words for existing words. How she has a hard time describing feelings. How she wants others to understand her, but doesn't know how. "What's the word for when it feels in your heart that everything is all right?". I don't know the word. I want to know. |

lol How very blunt, I like that. 
I bet it's many peoples first Eroge actually.
999 is more advertised then this due to the appeal to everyone rather then a limited audience.
I definitely agree to that.
Also, I know that the writing was by different guys but Hanako in Lilly's story and Hanako in her own are pretty distant from each other...I felt the Lilly writer was also best at writing Hanako's side story as the Hanako writer (who I think is an Aussie).
As for Rin, was told she has the longest route.

| I don't get how most people don't seem to "get" Rin. I understand her perfect. Or at least well enough. Good music. I like the song "Moment of Decision" right now. Yesterday it was "Caged Heart". Maybe the next day it will be something else. |

I've played through Hanako and Lily's routes, and I'm going on to Rin now. I'm surprised at how much I've enjoyed this visual novel, especially since it was made by 4chan, heh.
As for the discussion on 999, I'm still waiting for the sequel...hopefully they decide to translate it... |

I gave this game a chance after seeing it posted on indie-games blog. I had never played anything of the genre before but was curious and went in with an open mind - I thought it was surprisingly tasteful and well done.
I liked Lilly and Hanako's routes best. I could relate rather strongly with Hanako in that I also have similar anxiety problems. The characters had a lot of depth and were interesting.

| Finally downloaded and started playing this game. Finished Act 1 for every character, haven't gone on to Act 2 for any yet. I like Rin's personality the best. She seems like she's an aspie, but Emi was the cutest. |

I'm sure she's autistic, it makes sense. On a different note, as I was playing Hanako's route, in my head her voice was that of Fluttershy's from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Maybe because Hanako is really shy. Heh. I only have Lily's path left and I've done it all (all of the good endings that is, unless you count Kenji's). |

I saw this thread and became curious about Katawa Shoujo. I started playing it today and found it really interesting. Somehow I've gone down Lily's route, even though I planned for Shizune lol ^_^

Shizune's route is the worst, in my opinion. |
