I have a habit and it drives me mad. Whenever I make a social mistake, say for instance I say something I'm not supposed to, or (in one notable example for me) mislead somebody in some way, I worry about it and just feel constant regret for what I've done. Hell, there was a thing that happened to me early last year and I haven't been able to get it out of my head since.
And it's usually for the most trivial things possible. For instance, lets say I am unintentionally rude to someone and even though I apologise to them upfront, and they accept it, sometimes it can take me a couple of days worrying about it before it drops from my mind completely.
Does anyone else do this? And if you do, what advice can you give? I really want you guy's opinion on this cause it's just insane for me. Life's too short to worry about things that aren't worth it. _________________ "Have no fear of perfection, you'll never reach it"

yes, I do this too.
The only thing which I find helps is not seeing people, and I will still manage to ruminate on the minimal convos with the person on the till in tesco, even though they mean nothing to me and are not important i will still ruminate.
I have not found anything which stops it. |

Trying not to think about it helps. I know it sounds patronising but when you do you send off signals to others. |

I do this too - I'm still worrying about things that happened two years ago. My best advice would be to just let it go - will it matter in a week's time? A month's? A year's? If the answer is no then why are you worrying about it, it's not really that big. If the answer is yes then think about why you think that it will matter then, you will probably be able to work out away to resolve it. _________________ Your Aspie score: 153 out of 200
