The first few lines of Thom Yorke' Skip Divided screamed aspie to me when I heard them:
I'm gonna skip divided and malfunction
flap around and divebomb

Bad Religion - "I love my computer" it's a great song, and for aspies like me who spend so many hours in front of the computer it's also kind of true Razz

Anything by the Talking Heads, especially More Songs About Buildings and Food. Check out I'm Not In Love and The Good Thing. Those are Aspie songs if I ever heard them.

probably nothing to do with AS but i like it.

You've Got To Learn To Live With What You Are
Original Artist: Ben Folds

I know that you're in there.
I can see you.
You're saying you're ok.
I don't believe you.

And now that the gig is up;
The spell is broken.
The fat lady sung,
The president has spoken.
These days that you were waiting for will come and go,
Like any day, just another day.

There's never gonna be a moment of truth for you.
While the world is watching.
All you need is the thing you've forgotten,
And that's to learn to live with what you are.

So freak out if you wanna,
And I'll still be here.
And don't call me for years, and when you do, yeah,
I'll still be here.

And I'm not saying the effort is a waste of time, but I
just love you for the things you couldn't change, though you've tried
These hours of confusion, they will soon expire,
Like everything does.

There's never gonna be a moment of truth for you.
While the world is watching.
All you need is the thing you've forgotten;
And that's to learn to live with what you are.

Sometimes,
Everything you've ever wanted floats above,
It's sticking out its tongue and laughing while,
Everything that anyone could ever need is down below,
Waiting for you to notice.

There's never gonna be a moment of truth for you.
While the world is watching.
'Cause all you need is the thing you've forgotten,
And that's to learn to live with what you are.

You got to learn to live with what you are.
You got to learn to live with what you are.

Check out Shirley Levi. She's all about spreading autism awareness.

Also, what about Orgy? I could be biased because Orgy is one of my favorite bands, but many of the lyrics of their first two albums are about all of the bullshit in society, and I think a lot of aspies could relate to it.

"O, Do Not Forsake Me" by They Might Be Giants.

O, do not forsake me, my indolent friends
O, do not forsake me though you know I must spend
All my darkest hours talking like this
For I am one thousand years old

One thousand years old
Sure, you think that's old
One thousand years old
But what do you know?
In my darkest hour I'm talking like this
For I am one thousand years old

Oh, some have forgotten the flower of speech
And walks through the garden where I go to defend
Misbegotten notions while talking like this
For I am one thousand years old

One thousand years old
Sure, I'd say that's old
One thousand years old
But what do I know?
In your darkest hour, my indolent friends
We'll be one thousand years old

I lovelovelove "I'm Still Here" and John Rzeznik is a heavenly diety, so when I saw it on the list of the front page I started to understand the lyrics a little more. I had never really made the connection in that song to contain any mental differences between the singer of the song and those who he's singing about, but now I can look at it in a different light. I'm trying to think of some other songs I can add to the list here.

Hm, "Kemp" by Millencolin is definitely an Aspberger's song, with the singer having a more discouraged view of his condition, and feeling like he can't do anything but annoy people. These lines in particular are what made me really look closer at the song's meaning - "A spoke in your wheel yeah like a bugging fly / A thorn in your side just like a constant red-eye / On being an ass I've really been a pro / So can I say no? Can I say no?". If that's not describing how NTs view obnoxious Aspies, I don't know what is.

Let's see, what else... I also think "Saved" by the Spill Canvas has a definite Aspie quality to it, since it talks about being in love with someone superior to you ("You are unreachable, about as possible as me touching the moon / I am unraveling, unbearably empty / And if this ground gives way I just hope that you'll catch me"). The chorus has an aspect that implies that the relationship is saving the singer from his disabilities and making him feel important, and I think that's a beautiful thing.

Reel Big Fish's "Average Man" is another good one, with the speaker trying to show that he has value as a person just like everyone else: "I just became a member of a club known as the bumbling fools / Botching the game and the best things in life is the motto and the rule / So if you can open up your heart and hear me out just for tonight / Baby I got something to prove to you, I've gotta show you I can do it right".

And finally, "Favorite Things" by Incubus, which is pretty self-explanatory if you look at the lyrics. "Remember all the lessons fed to me? / Me the young sponge, so ready to agree / Years have gone, recognize the walking dead / Now aware that I'm alive and way ahead".

MovieMogul wrote:
Don't know if it's already been posted, but one i heard in the movie, City of Angels goes something like this:

'And I don't want the whole world to see me.
Cos I don't think that they'd understand.
Where everything's made to be broken (fixed by Selo)
I just want you to know who I am.'

I think those lines define aspieness very well.

Ooh, ooh, that's "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls. Also written by John Rzeznik Very Happy And yeah, now that I think about it, that is a good one.

I love that song, but I don't see how it relates to Aspberger's.

A song that started my interest in “jam bands” is called Born on the Wrong Planet by String Cheese Incident.

I took notice of it a couple of years ago. I was diagnosed with aspergers no more than a week ago. I then researched AS and discovered this website a couple of days ago. I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this song yet.

Did you ever get the feelin that youre out there all alone,
No one else can hear you, no one answers when you phone,
Youre worried cause you cant remember the Name of the girl that you just met,
Might must be youre born on the wrong planet.

No, I dont think that it could be somethin that you ate
cause I just had the same thing too and man I sure feel great
Now dont you worry, its not something that you should regret
Thing is you were born on the wrong planet.

Now I must admit Ive felt that way once or twice before,
When I cant think of what to say as Im walking towards the door.
For this strange feeling I have I cannot find a cure.
I guess I was just born on the wrong planet.

OK, I've got a pretty big list:

Alice in Chains:

Angry Chair
Lyrics:
Sitting on an angry chair
Angry walls that steal the air
Stomach hurts and I don't care

What do I see across the way, hey
See myself molded in clay, oh
Stares at me, yeah I'm afraid, heyChanging the shape of his face, aw yeah

Candles red I have a pair
Shadows dancing everywhere
Burning on the angry chair

Little boy made a mistake, hey
Pink cloud has now turned to gray, oh
All that I want is to play, hey
Get on your knees, time to pray, boy

Chorus:
I don't mind, yeah
I don't mind, I-I-I [2x]
Lost my mind, yeah
But I don't mind, I-I-I
Can't find it anywhere
I don't mind

Corporate prison, we stay, hey
I'm a dull boy, work all day, oh
So I'm strung out anyway, hey

Loneliness is not a phase
Field of pain is where I graze
Serenity is far away

Saw my reflection and cried, hey
So little hope that I died, oh
Feed me your lies, open wide, hey
Weight of my heart, not the size, oh

Pink cloud has now turned to gray
All that I want is to play
Get on your knees time to pray, boy

Another Alice:

Would?(this is the theme song to my life)
Lyrics:

Know me broken by my master
Teach thee on child of love hereafter

Into the flood again
Same old trip it was back then
So I made a big mistake
Try to see it once my way

Drifting body it's sole desertion
Flying not yet quite the notion

Into the flood again
Same old trip it was back then
So I made a big mistake
Try to see it once my way

Into the flood again
Same old trip it was back then
So I made a big mistake
Try to see it once my way

Am I wrong?
Have I run too far to get home?
Have I gone? [2x]
And left you here alone?
If I would, could you?

Rolling Stones:
-Paint it black

Skid Row:
-18 & Life

(I can't believe I'm going to say this)
Tupac Shakur:
-Broken Wings

Pink Floyd:
-Empty Spaces (minus young lust)
-Hey You

A Perfect Circle:
-The Outsider

Bob Dylan (I think he has AS, but more on that latter)
-Mr. Tambourine man

Bob Seger:
-Turn the Page

Metallica:
-Sanitarium (Welcome Home)

Rammstein:
-Los (it's german, but its basic translation is as follows)
We were nameless
we were leaderless
we were songless
were were hopless
we want what was promised
that you took shamelessly
(i don't know the bridge)
you hid behind your god
(it goes on to say)
we found our names
we found our voice
and you can't stop use now
(I am dead sure I only got 50% of that right, not bad for only know english an japanese though)

And the final song on my list:

Shindown:
Burning Bright
Lyrics:
I feel like there is no need for conversation
Some questions are better left without a reason
And I would rather reveal myself than my situation
Now and then I consider, my hesitation
The more the light shines through me
I pretend to close my eyes
The more the dark consumes me
I pretend I'm burning, burning bright

I wonder if the things I did were just to be different
To spare myself of the constant shame of my existence
And I would surely redeem myself in my desperation
Here and now I'll express, my situation

[CHORUS (2)]

There's nothing ever wrong but nothing's ever right
Such a cruel contradiction
I know I cross the lines its not easy to define
I'm born to indecision
There's always something new some path I'm supposed to choose
With no particular rhyme or reason

[CHORUS (2)]

I bolded the best fitting lyrics.

"Unwell" - Matchbox Twenty: The whole song sounds pretty aspie.

"Your Mistake" - Sister Hazel: I'm not right, I'm not fine/I wanna be rain that tastes like wine/I wanna be good, I wanna be great/I wanna be everything except for your mistake
