They were afraid of losing donations. Where I live, many teens are pushed into having abortions. I had been impressed by the Komen Foundation's stand, but they backed down. Sylkat

Planned parenthood provides women's gynocological health care to those that cant afford it. pap smears. cancer screenings Mamograms gives out free or low cost contriceptives They actually prevent more abortions than they perform by educating and providing contriceptives They teach about STD's and prevention they do alot more than abortions. In fact, since the late 70's it is illegal for taxpayer dollars to be spent on abortions, so all this crap being spewed about taxes for abortions is not true at all. The tax dollars go to women's health programs they offer, not a dime of it is spent on abortions. All abortion clients are 100 percent self pay. Since planned parenthood has an interest in early detection of breast cancer, the Komen assocation would be shooting themselves in the foot not to support low cost/no cost mamograms which planned parenthood provides. The real kicker with a controversial subject is that you still tick a lot of people off no matter which side you stand.
