|
|
Just for future reference.........if I feel I am causing too many problems and stuff on this site or can't handle drama should any escalate would there be any way for me to delete my profile? and all comments or threads.......maybe comments are a little much, but no need for my threads if I were to delete my profile.
So yeah just wondering if in a future point in time I would like to be removed from wrong planet is it an option? who do I talk to or what would I have to do? _________________ It's like alice in wonderland except, my names not alice and this is the real world not a dream. |

There is no option to delete profiles or threads/replies en masse.
Sorry. Deleting a profile along with everything a user has posted causes massive problems with the cohesiveness of the site.
Though I'd hate to see any user leave, there is one option you can ask for. You can contact a moderator to have your profile "banned." There's no stigma to having that done. There is no announcement. No "flags" are placed on banned profiles. Banning simply locks your account so you can't log in. No one would know. The only thing they might notice is that you're not posting anymore.
Though the fact that this thread exists does leave a bit of a trail, but you can also ask to have this thread deleted. I'm sure they would do that too.
If you did choose to do that, and I'm NOT encouraging you to, it's your decision, you will always have the option to contact a moderator sometime in the future to reactivate your account. You would need one of their email addresses to do so though, since you would no longer be able to PM them.
Sometimes it's not a bad idea to take a break, and if you have trouble not logging in on your own for whatever reason, this is an option.
I've did it myself about a year and a half ago for a few weeks. The mods had no problem obliging.
If you do decide to go through with it, know that the door is always open. All you have to do is knock. If you do leave or take a break >>>
I hope you come back. We'll leave the light on for ya! _________________ MrXxx is taking a long sabbatical, and no longer moderating.

What about just my threads and my profile? or just my profile?
Also I would prefer to just keep it and not log in rather then not be able to log in but have other people still able to see everything I've posted here But I was just curious what some of the options were because I feel like things here have kind of taken a turn for the worst for me so I might be taking a break but I probably just wont log in for a while if I decide to do that |

Everything would stay in place.
Even if you had yourself banned, it's just an account deactivation. You don't have to log in to read most of the forums.
I think the only exception is the Members Only forum, which you do have to be logged in to read. _________________ MrXxx is taking a long sabbatical, and no longer moderating. |

You can ask for specific threads to be deleted that you started.
Whether or not it'll be done might depend on how many there are, and how many replies they've received. Deleting entire threads can cause a lot of broken links. Every profile has "Find all posts by..." and I believe the links to replies in threads that you started would still be in all of the profiles of users that have replied to you. I could be wrong about that, but i don't think so. If I am right, all of those links would then be broken if they deleted the threads they lead to.
As a former web master, I know that is a bad thing to cause on a site. It can lower search engine rankings. Plus, it makes for a frustrating user experience.
If the threads are fairly short, with few replies, they may do it.
It can't hurt to ask, but you should remember too that it may require a lot of work, and our mods are all unpaid volunteers so.... _________________ MrXxx is taking a long sabbatical, and no longer moderating. |

Threads arent deleted but moved to an area that is only visible to mods and admins(alex/TOGGI3).
All youŽd have to do to have a thread moved is just send a link to one of us and it will be removed.
That being said posts have to be moved manually so I dont think any of us would be willing to delete over 2000 posts and the subsequent quotes... |

Cool. That's a pretty creative way to handle that problem. _________________ MrXxx is taking a long sabbatical, and no longer moderating. |

we don't necessarily remove all threads on a person's request though. firstly it depends on the circumstances - essentially it depends whether or not it is for a good reason. also, it would depend on the number of threads involved and whether those threads were/are popular with other members.
this sort of request doesn't just affect the member asking - it affects all the members who read the thread and who posted in it. so it is not a request we take lightly. _________________ on a break, so if you need assistance please contact another moderator from this list:

Alright well thanks for the info, I guess I'll probably just not come to this website for a bit if I'm getting upset by it. That seems to be the easiest for everyone. I mean I don't feel like asking to have my threads deleted one by one and the mods aren't going to want to delete that many posts so yeah. _________________ It's like alice in wonderland except, my names not alice and this is the real world not a dream. |
