Hello,
is it the right forum for me? However it's nice to be a part of this community.
I am a student and living in europe. My first language is german. I am not so good in reading, writing or thinking in english. So this is my way to spent some time with a topic in which I am interested.
Maybe I learn a little bit more english in this case?
Maybe I find here some people with aspergers who want to become a librarian like me or are already working in a public or research library? That would be exciting .
I am diagnosed with asperger syndrome in 2010. I like books, pets, films and shooting with my cameras.
bye

Grüße! Willkommen bei WP! Ja, ich kann ein bischen Deutsch. Ich habe es beim hochschule und die universität gelernt, aber ich kann es besser lesen, als schreiben oder sprechen! _________________ "A man needs a little madness...or else...he never dares cut the rope and be free."

Hi! Welcome to Wrong Planet! Try the different forums. I find this sight interesting and helpful. My first job, part time after school hours, was in a town library as a Page. I shelved books and helped the visitors. I also got old magazines and newspapers from the locked peroidical room for the visitors. We had some very old issues of some newspapers on micro film, so I also helped the visitors with the micro film machines. Occasionally, I did a little bit of paperwork, too. I liked my library job better than all of the others I have had since then, but I had to leave eventually. It was a part time job reserved for high schoolers, and I graduated from high school. They kept me on longer than usual after that, because they were having trouble getting a replacement for me, due to the pay. Because they are a non profit place, they don't have to pay the minimum pay rate, so I was getting below minimum wage there. I quit that job when I found a better paying one.
I still think working in a library is a good job, but you will earn more if you get some kind of library degree. |

Your english beats my german.
I imagine it wouldn't be hard to find some people here with an interest in being a librarian.
Even just thinking about the amount of silence feels like a waking dream.
What kind of subjects does a person need to study to actually become a real librarian? |
