I have been lurking for a few days after discovering this forum.

It seems a nice place so I've registered and will lurk less and post more! Very Happy

I like the So Delicious brand of dairy-free ice cream. Especially the Mint and Vanilla flavors.

I lurked for my first two days and then went right in for the ice cream.

I mean...then I decided to post, still warily because of the reputation this forum had from another forum I left.

Mmm mint choc-chip. Damn you synaesthesia.

Sometimes I lurk in here when I just don't feel bothered to reply. I get in moods like that. It's better I don't reply in case I get into a heated argument.

Waffle cone.

It was really hard to fit in at first but I've now been here so long I can't even remember those early awkward days. I think after 1000 posts I felt right at home.

And now I just post whatever is on my mind and if I think I stepped over the line...might avoid that thread forever.

I don't post as much as I used to but I think I'm still a familiar face/ avatar. I can't be sure though, face blindness is quite common on the autistic spectrum (/ dad joke)

I lurk far more than I post. Sometimes I don't have anything useful to add, sometimes I feel like no one cares about what I have to say, sometimes I feel like it would take too long a post to say what I think, and no one would read it.

I will read it, if i am in the neighborhood. Smile

I love mint chocolate chip ice cream. I should own stock in Lactaid (sigh).

too bad you can take a tub of mint chocolate chip ice cream with you on the WABAC machine, go back in time to the IPO of lactaid [whatever stock that is] and buy a bunch. then you'd be rich. or at least richer. Smile

Oh I agree I probably should not feel like I'm not welcome to post here whenever I choose, provided I do my best not to break all the forum rules. But it just does not make it any easier not to feel that way I mean its like when you walk into a room of people who don't like you and can't help feeling a little awkward and wanting to leave even if they don't actually say anything to you and are tolerating your prescense but just the vibes you know....I guess the walking into a room would be worse though.

But yes I would like to figure out how not to care so much about that sort of thing.

I can relate. On this other forum I used to frequent, I felt very involved at first. I had a lot fun posting there, but as time went on, it felt as though many veteran posters were annoyed by me (if they acknowledged my posts at all). Sometimes, I tried to explain myself in words, or I'd genuinely apoligise for things I'd gone wrong. But then, they'd accuse me of "passive aggressiveness".

Here on Wrong Planet, I've always posted with a bit of distance, if that makes sense. Never got as involved in the community as I did on the other forum, though there are a lot of posters I always look forward to reading new posts from. But that emotional distance allows me to post here and avoid the drama. I'm mostly unaware of any animosity between posters going on here. Returning to the other forum, I now post with the same attitude as here. I just remember that it's just words on a screen, and it's supposed to be fun (and in the case of Wrong Planet, also supportive sometimes.)

I guess I just kinda got excited because I was really enjoying it here.....so It started becoming a bit more important to me so I did not have such a distance. But on most forums I usually do have more distance between myself and the site, Its like I just got too comfortable here and for whatever reason it was not meant to continue.

I lurked for a while but then I had stuff I wanted to say so I signed up. I don't have time to come every day and there's not always a thread I want to respond to but I do like ice cream.

then consider trying some ben and jerry's stout ice cream- it is made out of stout beer, but tastes somewhat chocolatey with a strong hint of barleymalt. it is good. taste it and then you can post about it to educate the great stout-icecream-deprived wrongplanet masses about the charms of stout ice cream Smile

I read this site almost every day, but I don't post very much.

I often click the reply button and start composing a post, but then I either realize the amount of effort that it would take to convey exactly what I want to convey or I realize that the things I would be posting would be too similar to what other people have already posted, so I usually close the page without submitting.

try playing devil's advocate now and then. be a contrarian with cause. there is always another side to the story.

For crying out loud, auntblabby! I'm rated as an intelligence officer, was a private investigator, and am studying to be a lawyer. If that doesn't indicate training and talent for lurking, I'll be blamed if I don't know what does! lmao

I post quite frequently, actually. Thanks for the offer of ice cream, but my diabetes and lactose intolerance won't allow me the pleasure.

I post much less than I did at one time. I can't be bothered to write more than short posts of one or two sentences.
