According to This Article in the Orange County Register, a lawsuit filed in Orange County (CA) Superior Court by Joseph McVeigh alleges "Cover-ups of sexual and criminal scandals" at the Trinity Broadcasting Netork (TBN).

Terri Sforza, OCR Staff Writer wrote:
Jaw-dropping details about alleged financial digressions at Trinity Broadcasting Network were made in a lawsuit filed Thursday – including the purchase of a $50 million jet through "a sham loan to an alter ego corporation" for the personal use of the Crouches; a $100,000 motor home purchased by Trinity as a mobile residence for Jan Crouch’s dogs; "multiple residential estates" falsely reported as guest homes or church parsonages to avoid income disclosures; meal expenses of up to a half-million dollars per company director; "personal chauffeurs compensated with Trinity funds under the guise of medical payments;" and "multiple cover-ups of sexual and criminal scandals."

It seems that even Paul and Jan Crouch may not be immune to greed, lust, and prideful displays of wealth.

Being "religious" doesn't preclude sin, but I wonder why some prominent "religious" figures seem to get caught up in sins that many non-religious people wouldn't dream of doing.

If they broke the law, then they should be judged according to the law (not to any extent greater or less) as any other non-religious person or organization would be judged.

If it's true, the hypocrisy bothers me, but I think that's a separate issue.

Edit - for terminology

Because they know that religion is a racket. It was exactly this racket that made them rich and prominent after all. And once people are rich and/or influential, they stop acting like ordinary human beings and use their power over others in ways that would never occur to a decent middle class person. Nothing short of money and power is so tightly linked to sex scandals and abuse as religion.

So far, only ONE person has chosen the "LIES!! !" option, yet he or she does not have the courage of his or her convictions to post and explain why.

I picked "other", but only because I didn't fully agree with the technicality of "fullest extent of the law"...just normal extent of the law is fine with me.

edit to add: I've been on a jury, and it's not easy sometimes when evidence is stacked against the accused, but still, it is supposed to be "innocent until proven guilty".

I picked "other" in order to indicate that the final two options (except "other") are both true in this case.

I just picked it for laughs. I honestly see these crooks on TBN and various other networks telling people, "Sew your seed, give God $1000 and you shall be blessed, I know some of you have $1000 just collecting dust in your bank accounts, SEW YOUR SEED! BE BLESSED!" My poll option was just for laughs. The explanation marks got me.

Any real Christian knows that doesn't give them a pass from punishment by the legal system.

I voted for prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.
